Just thought it would be fun to see some of the things we've done (hair wise) for Halloween, and maybe what we plan on doing.
These are from last year, I went as Wanda from the Fairly Oddparents (great cartoon!)

Haha, took 2 days to wash the pink out with C/O but it was totally worth it!

No, i don't really dress up anymore. I like to see everyone else's costumes though. Will probably have to dress up DD1 this year but would like to do a homemade outfit. nothing scary.

Last year I wore Princess Leia buns to a Halloween concert. They looked kind of like this:

(except that was a different day's Princess Leia buns).

OMG, that is hysterical!! Really GREAT!:pumpkin: We love Halloween too. I'm going as Betty Boop this year. My hair is really short right now so it will be perfect, although I have to color it black. Wonder how long THAT will take to was out??? EEKS!

I'm going to be a tortured demon in my church's Judgement House production this year. With silver hair! :eyebrows: I'm also on the makeup team, so I get to make everyone else up too.

Physicschick, those are super cute! One day my hair will be long enough for that.......
Jenn, thanks! We'll need to see some pics after you do it, buncha crazy voyeurs that we are!
Ladygunn, that sounds like fun! Do you do stage makeup often? I used to be in a lot of shows and I think its so cool what can be done with the right makeup.

smilinjenn71, I'd be careful in coloring your hair black. What are you planning on using?

Black is a tough (if not impossible) color to get out. It permanently stains sometimes, even if it's only meant to be temporary.

Great costume idea though. i love Betty Boop.

Thank you for the warning! I had considered the spray in colors but hear they make your hair stiff as a board. Soooo, I started looking online. I'm naturally a medium brunette and have decided to use coffee to color my hair a bit. It won't get black but I think it will be close enough.

I'll try to remember to post a pic after our party.:pumpkin:

It depends if i have a party this year or not to go to.

If i do then i'd LOVE to dress up!
I was thinking.. huge curly mohawk :D. if i finger comb it it will look teased, and gain a lot of height before the hairspray attack.
Then MAYBE spraying it with one of those colour spray cans.

or else, sleek and dark, vampire style.
was thinking of cold blow drying it straight for the event, but i never tried to see if it works on my hair before.

i really wish thers a halloween party i can go to..i love dressing up :)

I was Betty Boop once! I was about 9 or 10 years old, I think. My mum got me a curly light blond wig and sprayed it with black dye (which, surprisingly, did mostly wash out). The curls were not short enough, so she pinned them up so it would look right instead of cutting:) I used the washed wig the next year to be May West, lol. People kept thinking I was Dolly Parton!

ETA: AND I did the voices!

Last year was my first year doing any stage makeup & so have a teensy bit of experience under my belt. I can make a pretty horrid looking Satan, demon or burned person. That's apparently my specialty. :eyebrows: I have several posts with pictures from last year at my blog (http://ladygunn.blogspot.com/search/label/Judgement%20House). I was practicing aging techniques Tuesday night at church & didn't do half bad. One friend I was talking to finally said "I just can't look at you any more!" On Wednesday, I talked to a girl who I had practiced on the previous night & she didn't recognise me without the "wrinkles." :p

not sure i there is going to be any "trick-or-treath ing" around here like the last couple of years. If there is, i'll take my little brother out, probably have to make him a costume as well :hmm: he'll want to be a knight or something:rolleyes:

i just had to share this hairstyle/costume:

Can't remember doing anything exiting with my hair at halloween since I was about 8 when I put blue streaks in it (wash straight out), wore an ankle length wig last year. If I find a fun thing to do this year then I'll start thinking of what I can do with my hair.

That is the first time I have ever seen anyone attempt to do Wanda! I love the FairlyOddparents and you did a great job! I don't have any pictures to share though

Thanks! This year I have to work on Halloween (uggh....) so whatever I do will have to be really tame lest the management chew me out! Of course I'm sure I could find a party on another night if I tried.

OK, so here's a pic of my Betty Boop hair. (no make up - sorry - lol) I've decided not to dye it since my hair is already brunette.

It appears as though you are trying to post the picture from your computer rather than Flickr

Here's my standard tutorial from the knitting thread: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=245469&postcount=405

WARNING: OFF TOPIC (kinda, sorta)

I'm wearing false eyelashes for our Halloween party tomorrow night. Any advice about these? They need to stay put for about 6 hours or so. I was going to start a new thread for this question but wasn't sure where to post it.:hmm:

Thanks!

I did those for a 60's party once. Make sure you hold them up to your eyes first and trim them if they're too long. Then, be very very careful and keep your eye still while putting them on. Once they're on, if you pull them off it's hard to get them back on. I ended up arcing them way above my lashes in the middle and it looked goofy but they wouldn't reposition.
