I have 2 challenges for you if you are willing to take it on
myself, I suffer from indecisivitis and it seems my hair follows suit I have it under a 2c/3a right now but I wonder....
(I know what they say about it being public, but I'm on YT under my same user name, Pagan videos, but if you want more examples you can check my channel)
on Wed I posted a video that I tried the "rake and shake" with product if you want to see that look it is the March 2nd 2016 vid.
these were last summer so I prob have a bit more length.... even if I just had a trim and it feels like I lost it ><

These are all *I think* product free but most are twirled while wet/damp
I did a few with aloe, when it was shorter, that are on my flikr page if you want to see too (this was the process of learning HOW to love my curls)

CASE #2 my 14 year old
she's solidly in 2 but most of the time she wears it straighter

she has a FEW of my ringlets up front but mostly it is waves

Thanks for the help!

I think 3a is more like it. I hardly see waves - if at all, they're all kind of ringletty. So I'd definitely say 3a.

I'd say 3a for you and 2a, might get up to 2b depending on handling for your daughter.

Oh yes, forgot your daughter. I'd go with 2a as well.

I echo the already those who already suggested 3a and 2a. Your daughter I feel secure at saying 2a but I'm not so knowlegeable about curls. But I'd assume 2c hair wouldn't curl like that when twirled.

Thanks! This is what I was thinking, when ALL the tips that have helped me have come from a 3a sort of thing LOL IF I don't twirl I tend to hate the "poof" I get
it can be more wavy when It is shorter and if I brush or comb while drying But I've got a few years now of wearing it this way took me until around 28 to figure it out
Though I did have a few good years as a kid but then I did a major chop to chin then grow then chop the next summer back to chin for MANY years I might skip one summer, but then the next :hatchet: hahaha

It has only been this last grow which I think is the last 4 years (it feels SO SLOW) I might have had one cut in there but I don't think so. but SLOW. so maybe LOL

I forgot to say both of you have really lovely hair! Is your daughter's dip dye henna?

I have a faint memory about reading that the "raw version" of hairtyping might not be best way to approach hairtyping photos when it comes to some curly hair. It was based on the idea that many curly hairs need some coaxing of the curls, otherwise they are poofy and not defined. If this is true what I remember, then twirling a bit should be ok for typing photos.

yep, it is a henna dip dye, we just did our henna process (roots for me) and we ombre'd hers a little this time going just above the prior line from before and all the way down for the already henna'd portion. It turned out AWESOME!

and curl coaxing is needed here! I have to do something or it is a poofball and I hate it! I'll tolerate until dry for about 30 min... then UP she goes! or re-wetting and redoing! I have this one pic from when I was a kid (3rd grade or so) my hair looks awesome! For the LONGEST time I thought that good hair = being excited for something! That seemed to be the only time it looked good LOL
