DeadlyUnicorn's 1 Year LHC Anniversary

So last year today, I joined this site! I already had long hair but this site has offered me great advice I would have never known about. There are 3 things that I've learned here that have helped a ton.

First being one of the first suggestions ever given to me here, is that I try dutch braiding instead of french braiding. That has helped me soo much! I can french braid now, but dutch braiding is definitely easier for me, at least on my own hair.

Second would be using a wide tooth comb. I was always scared of combs because as a child my head was much more tender and the combs only seemed to make that worse.. They weren't wide tooth combs though, and I don't think the person knew how to comb hair properly either. So switching from the generic plastic paddle brush to the comb has helped a ton.

Third, clarifying and chelating. This is something my hair REALLY needed. Like horribly! It has been so much nicer ever since I started doing that.

So without this site I would not have these little hair successes and I thank you all for that

Yes I am really happy :) Though I do wish the ends were a bit thicker. I haven't had a trim in soo long..

Thank you :o I thought the helix bun worked really well for the sticks as they are a bit top heavy (so, sideways it can be a little weird if I can't get it really secure). It's about the only bun I can do to have the sticks vertical :p

Oh yeah. I have a lot of splits and damage from it... I figure it will take a while to get rid of it :/ I do s&d but I'm too scared to trim Idk lol but I should probably be doing micro trims... Blah
