Ooh. Great thread idea!
- trim more often once a year is not a good idea for me but I'm sooooo lazy  but I got too many split ends after leaving it too long
- comb not tangle teaser I have way more splits since the tangle teaser though I know it works for others
- sell some of my hair stuff I've sorted the things I'm keeping and really need to sell the things I'm not before I "rescue" them!

Hee hee! Yes I have one- I've made a potion out of olive oil, evening primrose oil and various essential oils that I intend to rub into my scalp occasionally and see if it stops my head itching. I know that Nizoral shampoo stops it immediately but I've a feeling that Nizoral is addictive and my itching gets worse than ever before when I try to phase it out. In fact, my head never itched at all until a friend lent me their Nizoral and told me it did wonders for their hair. I think I disrupted whatever natural process goes on in the scalp and I've never been able to get back to normal. (And yes, I have gone for months without putting anything at all on my scalp, but it has never gone back to how it was before.)

Awesome Idea!

Here are my Hairlutions

1) do not get a haircut unless I think I need it

2) Experiment with Long hair styles, not with colour.

3) Determine my Goal Length!

Let's see..
-wear hair up everyday except for prom and such occasions
-continue using miconazole every once in a while on my scalp as it seems to really clean up the flakes and it leaves my scalp feeling way more airy (i also got 0.5cm more of growth monthly from it so far)
-use a protein conditioner at every weekly wash as my hair seems to like proteins
-perhaps learn new styles?
-keep up with no trimming 2016
-get more ficcare hair clips as they seem to hold my updos like a rock

Awesome idea for a topic! Here are my hairlutions:
1. Only trim my hair when I think I really need it
2. Do a hot oil treatment every week-every other week
3. Get a silk pillowcase and microfiber towel
4. Start doing different hairstyles
5. Wash less

- Don't buy any hairtoys because they won't get used anyways. spend your money on band merch instead.
- Wear your hair down and enjoy it as much as possible.
- Grow to TBL if possible and maintain there.
- No unnecessary trims.
- Wash as often as necessary.
- Learn a couple of difficult braided hairstyles.

- Continue the monthly micro trimming to slowly cut off dye.
- Don't be afraid to experiment with different colours on your dyed lengths, they are going to get cut off eventually anyway!
- Wear hair braided or bunned more often.

I did some major chopping this year- so next year I would love to leave it alone for the most part.

That's really it.

STOP impulse dying and chopping hair!!
Also:
* Eat better (hoping better nutrition = better hair)
* Get trims when needed
* Deep condition/oil weekly (not just once hair feels like a Brillo pad and suddenly remember it's been 3.5 weeks)
* Learn updo and heatless styles aside from ponytail and messy bun

Mine is not to let my hair dry out!! I'll keep it super moisturized as much as possible!

My ambitious resolution is to reach waist or as close as possible. Also continue growing out my natural color and possibly dye the ends to match. Those are my main two, will probably add more later.

December 20th, 2015, 11:06 PM
-Continue with my usual hair routine (weekly coconut oil treatments, sleep with unloose hair, braid/bun regularly)
-Benign neglect
-No trims 2016 (or atleast until october 2016 since technically that would be a year for me)
-Reach tbl by the end of the year
-Have a nice, hip length braid by that time
Most importantly,
"Let it grow, let it grow, don't cut it back anymore." :rockerdud

I'm so jealous of those ladies who can get away with not trimming for a full year. With my hair (between it's natural fragile, fine texture and the highlights I just cannot live without), I'd have splits up to my ears before the end of the year.

Trim bottom; grow out layers and bangs.

December 21st, 2015, 03:07 PM
I think this is the same as my 2016 goals posted in another thread.

-Incorporate braids into style repertoire. I've committed to twice a month.
-Reduce splits by trimming and S&Ding.
-Figure out a wash routine that makes me and my hair happy.

S and D more regularly.

Goal is 2 more inches, just 2, until I reach 50 inches (and FTL) and then to maintain and thicken up these ends, if it is possible.

Make decision in one year whether to cut back to classic or TB, or to continue to maintain, depending on thickness of ends.

Resist the urge to impulsively go for a "trim.":p

Strawb3rryBlond

Mine are:

-don't give in and go and get highlights
-wait until at least April to get a trim
-practice/learn more styles, (buns/braids)
-reduce blow drying/straightening
-wash my hair less

KittyBird
December 22nd, 2015, 04:29 AM
- Detangle every day instead of ignoring my hair from washday until the next washday, and then spending 30-60 minutes working through matted knotty tangles and causing lots of breakage.
- Continue growing out my natural colour and enjoy the progress my hair makes.
- Trim more often. I keep forgetting that I'm actually maintaining at waist/hip.
- Trim away my layers. I don't really need them when I have a V-hemline.
- Buy all the new ficcares from the sunset silky and lotus collection! My hair totally needs those!
- Use my curling iron more often, at least for special occasions (I know, bad kitty! I just love heat curls :o :couch: )
- Wear my hair down more.

Stop thinking that blunted scissors will be "okay just this once when I'm in a hurry" to deal with split ends. NO. Bad Amy! Bad! You will get more split ends from that! Silly girl.

2016 goals.
- Wash Tuesday and Friday. AND THATS IT!
- Coconut oil the days before wash.
- Wear hair in braids everyday.
- Learn to do more buns.
- No Trimming 2016
- Take vitamins and workout.

This year I get to just grow and continue with what I'm doing! Right now my hair is on a four day wash schedule which seems to be working. Days one and two hair is worn down. Days three and four up. Day four my hair has coconut oil in all day and then olive oil about a half hour until wash time. Wash and continue. I will get a very small trim next month and then wait another six months to trim again. Hoping to see my hair reach just past armpit length by next Christmas. :)

Mine is to continue to work through my stash, rely on S&D more than trims, and grow to waist. I've been happily maintaining at around BSL-MBL for a couple years it seems like and suddenly have a strong desire to get back to waist again and who knows, maybe hip for the first time ever?

I'm going to jump in here!
1) Learn more buns (Bi-weekly at least)
2) Wear my hair up at least 80% of the time
3) Do not chop it off just because I am tired of it or want something different
4) Reduce trimming to a minimum
5) Do more oiling and deep treatments, less washing (No less than every 5 days)

My new years resolutions:
1) S&D only for 2016
2) Make it to classic (only ~2 inches before the fairytales are there) and push onwards, but probably cut back to classic Jan 2017 to improve violent taper.
3) No hair ties 2016!!!!!!! (except at the very end of braids) So much nape breakage :(
4) 365 days of MSM. Been taking it since Nov 15th with great results!
5) At tree planting this year, don't leave my hair in the same braid for weeks at a time and then spend an entire rest-day detangling.
6) Sleep with satin hair wrap.

My new year hairlutions:
1) get anemia under control;
2) keep growing without trims (unless I get split ends or other forms of damage);
3) get to FTL+ (I should get there in a few months), possibly even knee;
4) find some easy solutions for detangling, streamline the routine where possible;
5) learn new updos and braids;
6) stop being so lazy about deep treatments;
7) stop pining for bleach and dyes - enjoy natural hair as it is more.

Some of these resolutions are exactly the same as the ones I had last year.

My new year hairlutions:

1) Buy silk bonnet
2) Wear hair up to protect it (at least more)
3) Keep growing with micro trims
4) Make hair treatments more often.

Minimal trims next year, only if it actually really needs it. I've done a couple trims this year just to try things -- next year should just be a growth year and I'll let it fairytale all it wants. Get past fingertip, see how far it goes if I just leave it!

More braids, braided buns, to keep it all under control and minimize tangles.

Agnes Hannah
December 23rd, 2015, 02:13 PM
Here goes..
trim maybe twice this year.
Look after those ends
Use more braided bun styles
Remember that my hair is a little longer every day.

Keep getting 1 inch trims every three months to thicken up hemline.
Be more gentle with detangling.
Learn more updos.
Use oil or do deep treatments when I need them.
Only flat iron on the day I have my trims.
Learn to accept my hair's natural state.

To practice benign neglect.
To go completely cruelty free/vegan with all beauty products.

Good thread idea! Here are mine:

-Start S&D, banish all split ends
-Find a haircare routine that makes my hair as soft and healthy as possible
-Start trimming off all new growth once I hit APL so I can eventually reach my goal of having no layers and a blunt hemline
-Sleep in a protective hairstyle every night
-Learn protective hairstyles for shoulder length hair

My resolutions for 2016 are:

Concentrate on my hair's health and condition.
Thicken up my hemline by dusting every 2 months.
Wash hair twice weekly. My follicles become clogged very easily.
Quit obsessing about length and enjoy the hair that I have.
