Looking for feedback from wavy curly fine and thin haired ladies! I'm doing a baby pony and I'm slightly angled bob past my chin. Any others out there that succeeded at growing out my type of hair?

Try looking at the shorties thread, lots of support there for people who are growing out just like you!

I had that sort of cut a few years ago. To grow it out, I first grew out all my layers to be uniform all over my head and trimmed the front to be even w/ the back. Gradually, I rounded it to more of a U shape and then reduced the amount of layering. I am still only APL, but I've trimmed a lot, too, or I'd be further along.

My profile pic is pretty close to the way it is now. Tried to post photos, but they aren't showing up for some reason. Ooops.

Originally, my hair was this length... http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20245&d=1449446130

After that, it was pretty smooth sailing.

That's great to know! Thanks! Is your hair fine and thinner too? Did you go for a long blunt cut?

I'm personally a ii. I have some coarse gray hair (my reason for starting w/ semi color *sigh* -- it disguises it much better!), but most is pretty fine. OH, and I've been told I look better w/ short hair, but I don't care. I miss my hair when it is too short. Mine has a good bit of layering, but it is mostly in the front.

I did! I'm barely wavy, but I am fine and ii. I let my hair grow to hip with two small trims (including layers) and a recent more substantial 3.5" self trim (just ends) over the course of 3 years. I'm back at waist+ and now concentrating on trimming out the layers slowly.

Happy growing!

How does a girl figure out her hair type? Thanks for sharing!

At the very top of the Mane Forum thread list, there's a visual hair typing post by Gumball. All you need to know is right in there.

Good luck with your hair growing journey.

I am a fine haired wavy, and I've had a bob for most of the past 10 years or so. Six months ago, I decided I was done straightening it and ready to grow it loooong. I have a few pics in my album if you want to take a look.

My hair isn't fine, but I've been growing from a wavy bob for 2 years now without trims. It was *very* heavily layered, but has grown out nicer than I expected! Anyway....here is where I started.

About 6 to 8 months later nearing my collar bone ( I will delete this pic when the thread dies down)

Now my hair is about 4 or 5 inches longer than this at my bra strap, but this is close to what it looks like now. I don't have a recent pic at the moment.

My ends still have layers and there aren't any splits, but I will probably get a very small trim at the end of the year just to even things up a bit. It can be done!

Your hair was very cute as a bob, but I love it long! Soft, shiny and youthful :)
