...that don't break the bank? I just saw WildcatDiva's hair swords which reminded me of how much I want hair swords, and I love LotR. Any suggestions that are decently priced?

You might want to try a search on Amazon for sword letter openers.

ETA - Also forgot to mention ONN (https://www.etsy.com/shop/OutNumberedNovelties?ref=l2-shopheader-name) (Outnumbered Novelties on Etsy) can probably fashion something for you as a custom, but of course, that will be pricier.

Also take a look at AKCWoodworking (https://www.etsy.com/shop/AKCWoodworking)'s stuff.

Heheheh always the weaponry enabler.

Try eBay.
But... Most are too long.

I had ONN make me elven knives (of wood and acrylic), but they were not cheap.

Oooh AKC has a pair of elven knives in Leopardwood.
They are Diva approved.

I got mine from Ebay, but I had to shorten them and smooth the edges.

I've looked at the Amazon swords, and it looks like they're decent enough (some people even complained about dull edges--yay!) but Teufelchen and WildcatDiva have both mentioned that length is a problem, and the LotR sword tend to have neat-o blade shapes and designs I don't want to compromise...:( I liked AKC's selection, but I do like the metal blades. So I guess I'm between a blade too long or a wooden one. WildcatDiva, did your wood and acrylic knives look metal bladed?
