Hi there all you awesome people!
Its little over 4 years ago now since I found this community and I am so happy that I did as I have learned so much and as you are so generous and kind in sharing your knowledge, as well as lending some much needed love and support to anything from hair related problems to life changing ones.
When I found you my hair was really in a sad frizzy state and I didn't even realize how badly I was treating it.
It had a lot of mechanical damage as I usually wore it down or in the same kind of bun, as I didn't know how to make any other kinds.
I knew as much that to use heat to style or dry it can be really damaging, so I avoided that at least and I was co-washing it, but that didn't make very much of a difference due to the daily wear and tear I subjected it to.
This pic is from back in August in 2011, when I first joined, its about tailbone length here:

My first back of the head hair pic and I have taken countless more of them for the last few years and as I soon found me feeling at home here, not feeling it is one bit strange that most pics here are the back of peoples heads.. :cheese:
So I started to learn more ways to put up my hair and I wore it up more often, but I still didn't realize just how damaged it was.
And thought it was enough that I just trimmed it some every few months.
Its easy in hindsight to know what you should have done and that would have been for me to cut off the last few inches to I could start off fresh, growing my hair out.
I reached classic about 6 months later in January 2012:

But as I think you can clearly see my ends were very sad and damaged, not the look of healthy fairy tale ends.
I was so happy for my length and didn't know any better to notice the damage, so I just continued to let it grow as it was.
In 2013, about 2 years year after I joined my hair reached fingertip length and that is the longest my hair has ever been, but it was still in a bad shape.

After that I don't have many pics of my hair, as I was in the middle of a big move, moving about 490 miles.
And for about a year I lived in 6 different places before finding an apartment of my own.
So I didn't have much energy to focus on my hair and in the spring of 2014 I faced the truth and cut back a lot, but my hair was still in a sorry state, but I just couldn't bring myself to cut even more off.
This is my hair in February 2014 after me sitting for several hours, every day for almost a week, doing a much need S&D on it and it really thinned out my ends and left it with this weirdly shaped hemline:

At least my ends were feeling so much healthier so I kept micro trimming it a bit every month to just maintain the length.
By October 2014 my ends started to look much better and I had at last gotten rid of that weird looking hemline:

By that time I had also started to use Feye's selftrimming method for a U-cut and that really helped shape my hemline, which I kept up for about a year, micro trimming a bit off almost every month until August 3 months ago.
And this brings us up to date, as these two pics are my length pic from August this year to the left, when I last trimmed and the length I have gained since then, as you can see in the pic from November to the right.

And I can say that I am at last happy with how my hair feels, all healthy and silky all the way to my ends. :cloud9:
My plan is to continue to S&D regularly and my goal is to reach classic some time next year.
Which I feel its doable even if I need to trim some.
So at last I feel my hair is in really good shape and that is gaining some length without it losing its healthy feel to its ends. :happydance:
To be continued.....
