Does anyone know how to style their hair the way Nigella Lawson does? I love the way her hair curls. It doesn't just curl in one direction. I usually have straight hair but I thought I could put it up in rollers for a special occasion. I've been watching her cooking show on the Food Network and I love how naturally feminine she is.

I haven't found anything on her hairstyle yet but here is a great interview from 2006. She does mention products.

Here ia another interview from 5 yeas ago. According to this, she doesn't blow dry her hair, or did not.

Well, looking at some images of her, it looks very similar to my hair when I twist it while it dries (this is my favorite style).

Basically, I comb my damp hair into 2 pigtails and I twist them tightly all the way to the ends away from my face. I twist them periodically as they dry to keep them snug.

You can always twist them in opposite directions to make the curls go different ways.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I've heard it is bad bad baaad to twist your hair while it's wet. This was sad for me because I used to get it pretty dry from twisting the water out of it. Is it a hair myth or am I comparing apples to oranges?

I'm guessing it's not a great thing to do if you are twisting a couple of strands of hair, but I twist in 2 large pigtails. I'm not "squeezing" any water out of them, simply forming them into a large sausage curl.

I don't see any damage from this

So twisting is fine, but maybe twisting to squeeze all the water out after washing is?

She is so beautiful! Looks like the easiest way would be medium size rollers on damp hair and let air dry, good for going out in the evening hair :)

If you are twisting while toweling--it can cause breakage (especially if the towel is large & heavy)... when people talk about twisting & wringing the hair as being damaging--I think they refer to the force used, the weight of the towel, the amount of friction applied, etc.

My friend alice says she uses Rageaze Twist & Curl, because it curls without heat.

Seriously... I too watch her show religiously and always end up admiring her appearance more than her recepies .

All heterosexual men love Nigella and it has nothing to do with her hairstyle. Some people just have that certain, "je ne sais quoi".

Nigella (even if she were bald) has it in spades :)

Not just men! I totally love her, she's just perfection. Whenever I watch her show I just end up gawking at how magnetically womanly she is.

Not sure how she does her hair though, but have a feeling it may be with wide barreled curling tongs? I used to do my hair like this with tongs.

I think you could get a similar effect the way manderly described though, or with medium sized rollers.

I think Nigella's hair waves/curls are natural, her father has very curly hair too.

I swear I've read an interview where the journalist said she used olive oil on her hair, but who knows.

She looks great, really womanly and beautiful but her cookery programs make me laugh so much! All the flirting with the camera and soft-porn food squidging...she's such a hussy! I can see why people don't always watch it for the food!
