View Full Version : Frizz in back of the neck

When ever I put my hair in braid, some frizzy escapes and messes things up ... that never happens, when I bun it.
I would love for it to stay in the braid ... but love it even more, if it wasn't there.
What do I do, to make it grow and behave?

Everyone has wispies. Nothing you can do. If they're too short to go in your updo, that's it.

Maybe try starting your braid differently, with a method called "Dianyla braid".

(Or my slightly different version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kS5QQfoI6Q)
Few bobby pins hidden under the braid would help too. As would some styling product.

:agree: That's what I do when I can't ignore it.

If I can't ignore it, and wildcat diva's curls don't work, and I must look neat for an important function...I spritz it with some hairspray (wee bit) and use my BBB to brush it smooth into the bun etc.
If needed I will secure with a hidden bobby pin.
Fuzz = new growth :cheer:

That's absolutely normal. :)
A braid, going downwards, will be rubbing on collars, scarves, necklaces... and it gets worse, the longer it's hanging down, especially if one moves a lot or has materials like wool or flannel near the neck/nape area.
If you want to prevent this, just bun your braids (braided cinnabun/LWB/disc/Chinese/nautilus/etc. depending on your length) or pin them up in heidi/milkmaid/horseshoe/coronet braids. :)
If you want to wear braid down from time to time, but need to prevent the frizz, you can just wear your braid bunned most of the time and take it down only for short periods of time (when you wear silky tops without collars, for example, to prevent frizz). :)
(Product for detangling, placed strategically, can help (silicone serum, for example), but don't overdo it... I find it sometimes makes matters worse, because it may require more washing, and lint/dust can get trapped where serum is applied more heavily.)
