View Full Version : Hair typing - Has mine changed?

I have been pondering my hair type ever since the San Francisco meet last weekend. Trolleypup's hair looks pretty similar to mine and his is classed as 2a. When I first joined LHC my hair was wavier than it is now and I called it 2b. It seems that the increased length has relaxed the waviness. So should I keep calling it 2b because that's what it started out as, or 2a because it seems to look more that way now? Thoughts on this, please....

Looks like braidwaves, so I'd say it's still 2b. (Very love texture, BTW!)

I immediately thought 2b when I saw pic1; and that's what your profile says. So I don't think it has changed, no. :)

I'll hop on the 2b wagon here. You look classically 2b. I am 2b as well... At least I think I still am. I don't think I've ever let my hair dry 100% naturally since moving out of my parents' house, haha. I do think I'll have to come to terms with my strand typing classification differing from what I thought. I always assumed I was m because it's so thick usually, but now that I'm actually paying attention to individual strands rather than the hair on a whole, I have plenty of very fine hairs. I guess I'm just trying to say our texture, thickness, and coarseness can change over time. Don't sweat it too much, just enjoy your hair :)
