View Full Version : What should I do, plus question about Inversion Method?

I am a newbie, so bear with me! I keep hearing about the inversion method, but i've always wondered that, if you are using oil in your hair for 7 consecutive days, then does that mean you have to wash your hair for 7 consecutive days? Not only is that a lot of work, lol, but I feel I would lose so much hair washing it 7 days in a row. I feel I do shed more when I shower, that's normal right? Though I would love for my hair to grow really fast, i'd rather not lose more hair than necessary every month. I feel my hair is already pretty thin. Is it worth it? Do any of you feel this way too?

And the second question is, I feel like my ends are pretty thin, but I really don't want to cut them--do you think it would be better to cup them off, or can there be a possibility of them growing and filling out? Only for the last 6 months have I really started taking care of my hair. I didn't know anything or really cared until recently. All advice will be much appreciated and I will try to put a picture of my hair below. Sorry its a bad quality photo, i tried to use a white sheet to show the shape better!

Also, any advice and/or personal experience of how to naturally create more thickness I would love to hear!

You don't have to wash your hair every day to do the challenge. When my hair is clean, I massage my scalp with only a few drops of essential oil on my fingertips, or with nothing.

Oh ok that makes sense! Normally when I do an oil treatment, I use a lot of oil and sleep over night with it--but I will definitely try it like that!

As for the picture I will try to upload it again, it was working, idk what happened!

Hey, when I do the inversion method I do a dry massage (no oil) on most days and do a castor oil massage before my wash on 2/7 week days :o saves me a lot of of unnecessary washing and I've seen some good results with it - but they are not always consistent.

With regards to wanting more thickness at the ends, I suggest looking into microtrimming or maintaining, where you only take off a tiny bit of the ends and let the thickness travel down. Many people on here have had success with it.

Nice! I guess somewhere in my research I missed the part where you didn't have to oil, this is great! I will definitely be trying it now. [:

I've heard the term micro-trimming, how much would you suggest to cut, and how often? :)

Many people do theirs monthly or every other month, and they trim around half their growth. For instance, somebody grows a half an inch of hair per month, so they would trim 1/4 of an inch each month.

Those interested in maintaining would trim the entire half inch off.
