BSL by December 31st, 2016

So I will defiantly hit BSL wet or stretched by the end of the challenge, since my growth spurt this past week, even with my waves springing up to APL. I won't official call bsl until it is there when brushed, which maybe a couple month later.

So much closer than I thought! This picture has been up in a bun all day and then fingercombed so its a little wild looking. There is a possibility I will reach BSL dry after all. I have to check my hair wet and straight and see how it looks. I think I will be able to call it by the end of this year! That would be so exciting. :)

How is everyone doing? Just over a month to go! I was pretty much at BSL when I last posted which I think was early October. I have microtrimmed since then but only a very small amount so I'm hoping I will be at solid BSL by Dec 31st. We'll have to see I guess, argh!

It is up to you if you call it stretched or wait. I am calling it stretched myself.....I get tired of waiting and if you can stretch it there then it really is that long. Your hair is very pretty.

Yep totally agree. I am pretty sure I will only be able to call BSL stretched for myself as well, and that is OK. Like you say, it IS really that long, its just visually deceiving because of the wave.

I am officially done here! There is a bit rise on my bra strap, but I don't think it's that much so I'm just going to graduate.

Wishing a final growth spurt to all of you! I think this thread has been a success all and all, so many graduates! If I'd have the concentration ability, I'd love to do a tally of all the graduates, but since my concentration isn't that great I'd be happy to see someone else do a list! *hint hint*

And I'd be great also if someone would start a similar thread for next year, if there isn't one already! I refuse to do so because it's awkward to be the starter but not really grow much at all during the challenge :o

So I am at BSL when stretched, still an inch or so short when my hair is dry and wavy, so I sort of made it! I Should be even closer by the end of the month.

So here is a crappy camera phone pic that almost show my ends. Ironically the bleach on the ends is so close to my skin tone that the crappy camera can't pick up the difference.

Happy I graduated this thread and reached my goal. Past BSL already cant wait to reach waist. Hoping to be there by December solidly. Going to try and wear my hair up every day 2017, wash once a week, and no trim 2017. Very exciting. For me waist length is the length your becomes noticeably long. Not that BSL isnt long. But its not "wow your hairs pretty long -long. See you all at waist by Dec 2017 :)



And no I dont think theres a waist 2017 thread up yet.

Well, I made it!

I went out last night and decided to straighten my hair for the first time in a few months to see where I am length wise. Can finally say I'm BSL, it's just beyond the bottom of my bra strap. Really pleased, this is where I was in January last year....

I was going to just maintain at BSL until it all thickens up but I'm not happy with the length it is now when it's curly, so I think I'm going to have to try and grow it to waist, and then when it's straight/ stretched it will be waist but when it's au natural curly it will be BSL which is a much better length for my curls!

I'm then going to grow out those awful layers once and for all and try and thicken it up. It's got so thin : cries : BUT, it's BSL which was my goal so yeh I'm happy :-)

I was thinking about my layers too. Last year I decided to embrace them, take care of split ends and wait for them to grow out. It will happen someday, just not in 2016.
I dusted today (layers too) and I think I'm done with trims for this year - 1 cm past BSL.

Mid-back would be somewhere between end of shoulder blades and waist or rather middle of the back from neck till tailbone? Another confusing milestone IMHO.

See, here's how I figured MBL. I measured the distance between my waist and my shoulder blades and split the difference. It's somewhere in there! Lol.

Okay, so I just measured from the base of my neck to my tailbone.. 23 inches. I split the difference and wound up at nearly the same place! The no man's land.

I think that I have made BSL me too which comes as a very pleasant surprise to me :happydance: At the beginning of this challenge I was exactly at APL with my frail fragile ends. I honestly thought I wouldn't make it. And even though currently I'm not fully BSL yet as only my scanty lead hairs are grazing it, but I am excited to call it and to start focusing on the next milestone for the upcoming year...

Well, I am barely squeaking in to make BSL by today. I had to straighten it to be able to really see it. But, the longest hairs do come to the bottom of my bra strap and pulled straight they go beyond it. The bottom of my bra strap is the sixth visible stripe on my shirt so I'm calling it! Man it took forever to get to BSL! My BSL photograph, I think my hair looks much better wavy but it was fun to have straight LONG feeling hair today.

OOOooohhh oh oh oh!! i wanna join in!. Im more so pretty much at BSL than anywhere else. You can see my most current picture in my avatar, and if its too dark to see well just go to my profile picture its the same one.
I havent measured my hair, and i usually just dont i just give a rough track by milestones on my body.
Im apart of the no trimming thread this year too.
I feel like by the next time i check in ill be there, and i dont wanna just pop in and then just leave so im gonna stay here until the challenge is over because i feel like its the right thing to do regardless of whatever length i get too ;)
Its about the journey after all right?


I wanna answer some of the questions that were asked

If I may suggest a few questions:
1. What length are you at now?
2. What is your ultimate goal?
3. What is the technique/product etc that you mostly depend on to reach BSL by Dec 2016?
4. What is the one thing that you struggle with or challenge yourself to do, if any?

1. Im pretty much almost at BSL, im not even an entire inch away depending on how much skrinkage is going on.
2. my ultimate goal is Mid Thigh, but i might settle at classic
3. Herbal Essences line of products is my absolute fav, for deep conditioning, conditioning, leave-ins, etc.
4. The one thing i struggle with mostly is being patient, and i have been struggling to lower my shedding.

Try using coconut oil for the shedding 2 or 3 times a week, and keep conditioning like crazy. That should help!
