Ok, one of you suggested this and the name is fantastic enough to make up for it being potentially awkward to do on yourself. So, have a go!

(And I do much appreciate reminders and suggestions when I've lost track of time and haven't posted a new thread on the first of the month!)

I did this like 4 years ago! It's not quite the same, but pretty close!

(From the back, indoors with flash. I wish my hair was that shiny in real life!)

(Another one from the side, because I really like how this bun turned out. If I was wearing it anywhere besides around the house I would have made the starting pony tail neater.)

I haven't done one of these since my hair was much shorter; with classic length hair I only had to do four twists to fill it out, so it didn't take long at all. I possibly could have gotten away with three, even. I twisted each section up until about the last five inches, then twisted that end around my finger like I was making a pin curl, and pinned it right up next to the pony tail holder with two amish pins. Repeated three more times, and then used bobby pins to arrange the twists how I wanted them. All together it took a burly pony tail holder, eight amish pins and maybe six bobby pins, and I finished it and took pictures while my baby was taking his afternoon nap (I measure my time in naps now!).

Well, this is what you get when you say, "Oh so this bun is just twisting sections and pinning them? Easy!"

Hehe, I wondered it it would prove a little more difficult than the video illustrates. I'll be trying this later today. Hopefully I'll remember to get a picture.

Looking beautiful, everyone! Believe it or not, I actually did this at the beginning of the month but then sat on the pic. Where's the lazy emoticon?

Was I the only one who found this pretty easy? Only took me about five minutes to detangle afterward... It really is the longhair's version of twist & pin! This would make a really lovely half up, too.

Beautiful, TrapperCreekD!

I found a bunch of u shaped pins for 2.99 and thought of this hairdo. Since the only thing stopping me from participating was lack of pins, I'll be attempting this tomorrow!

TrapperCreekD, your picture is lovely.

Goodness, that took me forever and I only did four sections!

Beautiful photo too.

I found this weirdly easy and fast and satisfying, I would wear it again. I'd use better bobby pins next time though.

Yeah, you need good pins to hold this for long. Spent the day in this, very fun! Waves after are glorious too!

Here's my version. I just did five strands from the pony tail. It took maybe five minutes to do and about eight bobby pins. http://jenniferponce.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/12063495_10207739402631435_3878139945661756000_n-Small-169x300.jpg

My hair is guffawing and I am shaking my head. I avoid bobby pins like the plague. I did think of my both of my twin sisters, but their hair is the same as mine only a lot thicker and a tad shorter. I don't think this is going to happen.
