I was told by a hairdresser that any kind of salt in shampoo can be drying. However, I have also read that because shampoo does not sit on your hair for very long, it really isn't drying and that the salt is needed to make the shampoo's texture thicker. This issue seems relevant at the moment because I am using some generic Biolage shampoo from Sally's w/ sodium chloride HIGH at the top of the ingredient listing. So, is their any true consensus about salt in shampoo from members of this forum?

It's more of a build up thing for me. I like to take salt baths but my hair does not however clarifying and chelating fixes it.
