Hi all, I'm thinking about having layers cut into my hair. I've got thick waist length hair and I've already got some long layers at the back starting below BSL. Anyway, the longer my hair gets, the harder it is to control without layers and I usually end up cutting off length.
I'm thinking of going with shorter layers this time. I really like Nicole Kidman's hair in practical magic but I'm struggling to find pics of it from the back....does anyone have any? I don't have the time to sit and scan through the movie and I need some to take to my hair dresser.
Also, does anyone else here have heavily layered long hair that they wouldn't mind sharing pics of?
Thanks in advance

Here are three oldish length shots. It's longer than waist, but they are long layers from APL down to TBL. :)

You can cut it yourself with the compact cutting method (from the book, "Haircutting for dummies") but I wouldn't recommend it for hair that is BSL or shorter than that, as you might shock yourself how short the layers are.

It involves making a ponytail and snipping a bit off.

1/ ponytail on the top of your head for longer more even layering
2/ ponytail on the top of your forehead for shorter layers (and one longer layer in the back).

I actually did this once on BSL length hair (with the ponytail on top of my head) and it turned out fine. I wouldn't try the second option though, with hair that length.

Yes, those front layers will come out real short with that technique!

Goal hair. :bowtome: I LOVE IT!!! SO pretty! We have super similar hair wave wise. I'm at waist now when stretched, and just hovering slightly above it when not stretched. I'm going for hip / tail bone / some where in between? VERY PRETTY, DreamSheep :heartbeat

Nothing to write home about, but my hair is also long and layered, in the front I have some pretty short layers, a bit longer than my chin
Btw, the photo is from about 3 month ago

Thank you xoAshley, lolar, Pol, Adiro!

And spidermom, Adiro, DweamGoil - what lovely hair! :) I hope you get exactly what you want lolar (my layers come from a hairdresser - they were cut in about 2 years ago and I trimmed the longest layer out, I don't think I'd ever do them myself either despite knowing the method)!!
