Besides growing longer, yay!! I notice my braid looking "less thick" Does that mean I have lost hair?? I had my ponytail go down like 1/4" but I don't think it would affect it that much. Obviously the one that is the longest is my current braid. Has me worried a bit!

Here are the links, as I don't knowhttp://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=12006&attachmentid=19131 how to get pictures in here.

It looks like you're braiding tighter than you used to. See how the angle that the strands pass is more horizontal?

so that would make the difference?? Thanks so much Anje. It's harder to braid now, and since everything is longer, it is easier to compact, as my layers are now getting down there are well. And I realize I'm losing my V shape because the layers are getting longer. Thanks, I was worrying. HOpefully it's just that!! Love ya!

Again the worry about thinning hair. Hair naturally sheds when it reaches the end of its growing cycle, then a new hair grows in. Therefore, hair thickness wanes a bit when hairs shed out, then waxes again as hairs grow in. This is all normal and natural. When I took measurements, my thickness would vary from 3.8 to 4.2. Guess what: both measurements looked pretty much the same.

Agree that braiding more snugly will compress the hair more and make the braid look less thick. The opposite is also true. I often do a style where the braid goes across the top of my head, and where my braid starts to taper, I pull at the edges of the braid loops to make them bigger so that the braid looks the same thickness all the way across my head.

^ Definitely. :agree:
Also, your latest braid is starting very high up compared to the first one - this makes a visual difference.
Honestly, your hair looks very thick and full and beautiful! :D

Thanks so much for all the good observations. I've never had it this long and have never looked at my hair as closely so there are times, when doubt kicks in. My husband and many others tell me that if I want to see it big and poofy and all that stuff, I should cut it because it's the length causing all the changes, even the small change in my ponytail circumference. so thanks very much, you made my day!!
