If you had to make do with just one hairtoy, which one would you save? I think I'd grab my 60th Street hair fork.

Goodness, if I wanted to be a bit dressy and have a more formal updo, I'd grab my large maximus jade ficcare. For a more casual look, I'd just grab a scrunchie :) Of course, this is coming from someone who can only do two or three updos :o

My fake hair scrunchie. It matches my real hair perfectly, and all I have to do is put up my hair with it just like I would a regular cloth scrunchie, cool!

A pair of black sticks, preferably my Night Blooming werewolf sticks. They are beautiful, match everything, and are sturdy.

Definetly my Quattro 5" Starlite hair fork. It is two pieces of metal that you can lock together with endless possibilities. It holds my hair all day long which is a necessity for me since I have two young daughters (1 and 2). It was $27 w/ shipping and worth. every. penny. I cannot say enough great things about it. My aunt tried it and instantly bought one from Ron's store. She used my computer because she didn't want to wait to get home to order it. It is weightless and I've never had any pulling, itching, hair falling, or snapping issues. Everyone should have one(or two) of these. I'm ordering two more for myself when I get some extra cash.

i recently got a 3 pronged cardinal wood sara from 60th street, which is slowly moving up to my top five though http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y244/bene25/smilies/dance.gif

I think I'll have to look into these flexi-8 things... But surely that's not what's holding up your signature hairdo? It's beautiful.

That would be a flexi 8-probably a large as that's the size the holds the most amount of different styles for me.

Ugh, I need to order some amish pins, I bet those would be my default if I had them.

As it stands I'd be in trouble without my brazilian clips (two combs linked by a web of beads, 'Hairzings' and 'Twist and Clips' are two companies that make these) as they hold my hair, even the pokey ends, without strain. I like my flexis even more but I wear them less. This would be my favorite just my sheer use even though the flexis are the first I reach for whenever I am leaving the house.

I'd have to say a large ficcare maximus. But it would be awfully tough for me to give up my graydog hairfork.

I've always felt like bobby pins should be my hairtoy of choice, but they always pull, poke, and/or get lost in my hair. Operator error? I think I need a basic bobby-pin tutorial.

I have to beg the owner of the "night blooming werewolf hait sticks" to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post pix of them....... I'm DYING to know what anything so described looks like! LOL

If I had to choose only ONE of my hair toys... seriously ONE ONLY... as in save that one and my life OR die..... I'd have to chooose ---

Guess it'd have to be the oldest one I own, given me when I was about 6 or 7 yrs old, IIRC : a brown hand-tooled leather barrette with a wooden stick, darkened with age and hair oil. It was made specifically for me to "grow into" by a Mexican whose husband my parents once saved. And when I was 9 yrs old myself, I was wearing it when I was caught in a very bad house fire.

It's my lucky barrette.

I'd have to cry like hell at the loss of some of my other childhood hair toys that I'd've lost... but that one is The Ultimate Thing That I Own That Must Never Be Lost!! That and my second childhood teddy bear - the one I was given to replace my first teddy bear, that I lost in that fire.

You'd never know that I was 47 years old, would'ya?

Still stuck on keeping one barrette and my old teddy bear, for goodness sake! lol

New favorites! I just got a pair of Ketylos twists off the swap board from Tabitha, and I love them! They're natural-toned. They will hold a much looser (and thus more comfortable) bun than straight sticks. And they're pretty, too!

I broke my favorite hairtoy some years ago. It was a beautiful twisted hairstick in dark wood, with a cobra head on the end, not visible unless you are looking. I managed to snap it:( Some time after I cut my hair shorter, so I haven't been able to use hairsticks much anyway. Now I am looking for a new favorite:)

Ha ha, I haven't changed since 2008  Now I would add spin pins and U-shaped pins too. Since I'd need to choose one, it would probably be spin pins.

My very first 'beforetheeye' (previously 'antleradornments') carved ROSE hair fork; it was my very first Etsy hair toy.

It is my FAVORITE Etsy shop hands down :crush:

My favourite toy to look at would be my obnoxiously large antler (see ava) ;)... but my favourite to wear would have to be my large hammered silver maximas. I wear this thing almost every day as it's plain enough to go with everything, it holds buns up spectacularly well, distributes the weight of my bun across my head so comfortably that my scalp doesn't ever hurt, and because there's no enamel on it, I don't have to worry about scratching or being too rough with it. :D

My favorite in terms of the one I think is prettiest is my "Lucrezia Borgia" two-prong fork from Ravenslair's (sadly apparently permanently closed) Etsy shop. Here it is in my hair in a cinnabun, shortly after I bought it. The photo doesn't show it very well, but the outer ring of the jewel has little faux diamonds in it.

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a43/AZDesertRose/Hair/Lucreziafork1-1.jpg

My favorite in terms of the one I use most often is the 5" Artemis from the same shop; it's just a two-prong silver-tone aircraft aluminum fork, but it's lightweight and extremely strong and will hold almost any bun I've tried, and being plain and silver-tone, it goes with pretty much my entire wardrobe.

Lately, it's been a lot of low ponytails held by scrunchies, but that's because my physical health has been icky and left me with no energy for doing anything interesting with my hair. My digestive tract really needs to straighten up and fly right.

My favorite toy to look at and to wear is my aquamarine colored Mermaid's tail. Other than that I do not have one I grab more than the others, as I rotate through the collection pretty often. I do choose three prong forks more often than others. But if I had to choose only one it would be something I could wear with anything, My frosted two prong acrylic fork. But believe me, as soon as I got to where i was going I would be looking for materials to start a new collection, and then I would be creating again, even if only wood twigs.

I couldn't make do with just one hairtoy as I enjoy a variety of hairstyles that require different ways of securing.

For versatility (including weather), neutrality, comfort and hold I'd go with my StarLites (2 aluminium forks from Quattro) and my small camel leather Flexi 8 with ACS Milky Way candy spike acrylic hairstick so I could do buns, twists, ponytails, etc. If swimming, I'd have to have an XL Flexi 8 at the ready, and an invisibobble hairtie or two for the end of braids (also good for flying when going through metal-detectors and for comfort).

The rest of my stash are all faves, as I've only acquired what I love while also working well with my hair, style, lifestyle, clothing, etc.

It's the best!! The hammered texture helps it to not look too plain, while not looking too extravagant either. Crossing my fingers and toes that you get one for your birthday!:magic:

Hm, hard to decide, but in the end it must be a normal shaped (no tusk stuff or something) hairfork because a bun with them hold everytime at the first time.
I think this is my favorite hairtoy, because it's my favorite color and also very rare:
