I've been growing out my hair for about two months, starting from the fade. I have extremely thick hair and its getting very hard to style (mainly because its too long to style the way I used to). Can someone recommend ways to style my hair so that it doesn't look like a rat's nest?

A picture, if you could, would be nice, or more of an explanation. How long's your hair? Is it straight, wavy, curly? That would be helpful. It's hard giving advice in the dark. ;)

This depends on the length of your hair to some extent. :)

Usually, if the hair is too short/thick for buns or braids or ponytails, a half-up would work great.

If you want to bun hair, you can always bun just the top section and wrap the remaining hair around it.

The shorter / thicker the hair is, the more sections may be required. :)

If that's too fussy, you can always just twist and pin away a few sections of face-framing hair or use a headband to keep hair out of the way.

How short of a fade are we talking? Because when I hear "fade," my mind instantly goes to a high military fade with 1/2-2 inches of hair on the top and shaved sides and back.

Agreed, a picture would be helpful.. it would give us a point to work from.
