Nadine's LHC Anniversary! (Pic Heavy)

Wow. Two years! (would technically be the 30th, but I won't be home that day and won't have time to post this.) Guess everyone wants pictures, huh?

When I joined my hair looked like this. Unfortunately, I never took length pictures. Actually I'm still really bad at length shots, so I have few.

As you can see it's layered...the back was a choppy mess. I hated it! I found LHC while googling how to make my hair grow really fast...
I didn't really take photos of my hair until I could start doing updos. With my thin fine hair, I could start using a stick fairly soon.

I learned how to do a sock bun. I was really excited to finally figure out how to make a bun like this.

My inner princess is thrilled that I can wear pretty bows :)


I learned how to braid.

I discovered parandas!

Discovered that heat free curling methods work far better than my curling iron ever did.

I also figured out that the best way to get your hair to grow is to not cut it. lol

I'm now at BSL (I don't have a photo to prove this, you'll just have to believe me.) I just hit the bottom of my bra strap! This is the longest my hair has ever been (APL was a new length for me, I've always had short hair.)

I've done everything from CO washing to CWC, all the way to using eggs as shampoo. These days I wash with suave 2 in 1 and follow up with either a suave conditioner, or pantene aqua light for some light cones. For leave ins I use either olive oil, grape seed oil, or a silicone filled serum. I think by Garnier... Depends on what I'm doing with my hair, if I plan on leaving it down a bit or doing a pony tail I'll use cones, but most of the time I'm cone free and it's usually slightly oily and in a LWB.

In the next few days I'll try getting someone to snap a length shot and add it to the thread :) Thanks for reading!

Amazing update, Nadine! You've come a long way. And BSL, congrats, girl! :D I experimented with "God knows what" ;) when I just got here, that's why it took so long to reach my goal (10 years), but anyway, this is not about me, it's about you! Celebrate by pampering your hair some more! You did great. :D

Your hair reminds me a lot of my mom's hair when she was that length and even a little past that length (around that length). Good times. This was about 20-30 years ago. She always wore it in a bee-butt bun on the top of her head with thick bangs (and it was red, OMG).
