Sweater weather, I am ready for you.

Today it was raining, the temperature went down to the 50s and it felt oh, so, good. But then the sun came out and I was sweating. :wail:

I am so ready to put away my dresses and take out my sweaters. I ordered some sweaters and they arrived today. When I tried them on I instantly liked my hair length more.

Not only do I like the cold, but I really like long hair and sweaters.

Do you have any pictures of your long (short is good too!) hair and sweater?

Also... I love Christmas. Can't wait for that!:xmas:

I wear t-shirts & hoodies, easy to take off when it's too hot. ;)

Wearing a hoodie now....not too impressed with the long hair combo though. The hood makes my hair look much shorter at the back and Im worried about catching it on the zipper at the front!LOL:D

This weathers throwing me off..im feeling totally in a fall-ish mood but its going to go back up to 80's this weekend and into next. I wont put my flip flops away just yet :) I love wearing hoodies and sweaters over lighter fabrics because as lapushka said if ya get hot you just disrobe a layer.
what do you do with winter hats and static..? does anyone line them with a silkier fabric or anything like that

Not looking forward to the cold weather at all. I much prefer warmth. Also not a huge fan of sweaters other than the sweater dress variety. I wear hair up so not much interaction of them would be happening anyway, especially since cold weather also includes more zipper containing coats in which I don't want my hair to get stuck. :scared:

I usually prefer stylish coats with a slipery texture outside and warm material inside so I can wear my hair down with no weird tangle-breakage problems like regular sweaters often give! (I love wearing my hair when cold because its gives some heat to my head)

...still I have a couple that I wear every once in a while in a side braid, I still have one old cashmere turtle neck sweater that love to wear, fall is my favorite season and love rockin that sweater out, even baggy and 80's like sweaters are more in fashion now

Ah. Sweaters and my fine, staticky, tangly hair! I basically have to wear my hair up all winter otherwise it's either clinging to everything from static or in a giant, balled up knot!

I'm a knitter and often take photos of my finished sweaters being worn. Usually I put my hair up so that it won't get in the way, but lately I've been taking one or two with my hair down. I hadn't thought of it before, but I guess I must like the combination as well!

You may regret saying that in January. I'm still emotionally scarred from -40 Celsius temps up here the last two winters. shudder:

Wow!!!! I love all the pictures that were posted!!! Beautiful. And that braid... Wow.
I will share some pictures of my own when it gets colder. We usually start getting consistent cold days in October. November is the fun month. Then December-March is soooo cold and it snows a ton so I wear like 5 layers !!

I enjoy winter, but I am certainly more of a fall girl. The weather at home in the fall is such that there is frost on the grass and windshields in the morning, and a need for AC in the afternoon. It is glorious!

In the winter up north in the Quad Cities, I lived in sweaters and covered my head and face with a scarf or two with the bottom one being silk, wraped hijab style, with a thick knee length down-filled maroon coat and neoprene Muck boots. I was often accused of looking like a "bag lady" because I happily sacrificed fashion for warmth when walking to school!

I'm so ready for sweaters! I love winter.
As soon as it gets cold I'll make sure to take some hair pics. Usually I forget to in winter, between wind and rain I usually have my hair in a bun. But I love long hair and sweaters, too.

 I'm not even a little bit surprised. I wore sweaters almost exclusively when I spent winter in Germany. Now I have a huge selection of them and I'm so excited to wear them again.

Lovely. :inlove: What's the pattern?

I never thought about it, but I guess I like the long hair + sweater combo, too. There is this one Russian knitter on Ravelry who posts pics of herself wearing her creations with her long hair down in a super thick braid and I am always in awe of it.

Thank you! The Pattern is Sun Rose (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sun-rose) without the eyelets.
Do you happen to remember the handle of the Russian knitter? I'd love to check out her work!

I never would have looked twice at that pattern. The orange, the eyelets... Nope. But your version is perfect and I need one! Adding it to my queue.

The raveller is skeincharmer. :)

It's quite a versatile pattern, and I've been meaning to knit another with more positive ease for a more sweatshirt-like fit.

Thanks for the info! It turns out I have seen a couple of her photos in a long hair group there and have been astounded at her braid too! :D

Oh yes! Fall, sweaters, hair. Maybe this winter my hair will get long enough to meet at least the collar of my sweaters. Sorry I have no pics, but right now I'm spinning a to-die-for royal blue merino-silk blend that will become a sweater, this winter, I hope.:knitfrog:

Not just sweaters but looking forward to working out some nice hair toy/scarf combos! (scarves are my sartorial kryptonite!, I have sooooooo many).
Im lucky in that I live in the southern UK where winters are never super cold so you can really enjoy them without anyone thinking that you've lost your marbles!LOL

In my city the women have a new trend. A long woolen sweater with a short leather jacket. I'm totally loving it.
