So Seeshami and I were talking about high ponytails and how we needed a high ponytail thread because it would be interesting to see with all the hair types and crazy long lengths and potentially silly and fun!!
So show us your high ponytails!!

Mine WAS on top top of my head, but it kept just sliding back as I had to tighten it for pics, so it is what it is. I'm sure Seeshamis will make up for mine in ridiculousness. lol.

I actually wear high ponytails fairly often. Usually with bows! I will take a photo next time I wear one.

That's an inch ruler, right, AspenSong? If so, There's no way you're an i thickness. I already doubted it when I saw your other pictures but now it's certain. :)
Anyway, how do you manage to wear your hair like that without scalp pain? I could really need some advice on how to ponytail so it doesn't hurt.

Here's mine. My hair wanted it to be a low ponytail and I couldn't get the elastic as tight as it should have been, but this will have to do :)

It is an inch ruler....See, my hair has always been under 2" and hubby has measured it. I don't know if it's fluffed up more or maybe it's because my bangs are adding that much thickness now that they're waist length. Not really bangs anymore...lol.

I can't wear my hair in a ponytail long term - not because of scalp pain, but because the length gets snaggly and tangled. I luckily don't usually seem to have scalp pain issues unless I bun in a spot I haven't been before for a long period of time.

I see. :) Well, congrats on the gained pony circumfence! Whatever the thought might be. :) Could very well be the "bangs" that are adding to it. Mine are only chin length and I already notice a small difference in ponytail circumfence.

when i first saw this thread yesterday i was going to post a pic of pebbles..thats about how my hair looks in a high pony right now :)

We have to wear ri-diiiii-culous high ponytails for cheerleading, so amongst my long list of pictures I need to dig up, I'll dig one up of that. :)
High ponytails also make my hair look really short and fluffy (if right on top of my head that is!), and when braided are quite happy for 10-40mins till they start sagging noticeably to one side and pulling on the other. :p

Well, it's a mix of colors.The brownish parts are my natural hair, then there's henna on my natural hair and then henna on chemical red dye. :D

It was a bit more towards the top of my head initially, but slid down very quickly... The wave leftovers are bun waves (did this after I took my day bun down), not too much left of them, lol :)
Sorry for the pajamas and crappy lighting, I did the high ponytail shortly before doing my sleep braid and going to sleep (I hardly ever do high ponytails anymore, so waiting till I'd actually do one as a day style to take the pic would have taken forever...)

Well, I took the picture upside down. But I'm much happier with the color, even if I'm extra fluffy for a few days. I'll try for a picture with flash and/or more lighting so you can see the color better once it's less fly away.
