If you can't french/dutch braid, but can make an English braid, these styles might bring some change into the same old same old:

Tucked braid updo at A Beautiful Mess site:

This looks a lot like tucked under dutch braid. I bet this could be done without the ponytails/elastics. ETA: The braid tail can be left untucked too!

And faux-crown braid, or should I say heidi-crown braid hybrid at Blushing Basics:

Totally bookmarking this. :o
I never managed to do neither the Dutch or the french braid so these are amazing tutorials for me.
Thank you for sharing! :blossom:

I'm glad you liked them! I know many here can't french/dutch braid, but would like to enjoy those styles too. Let us know if they worked!

I'm definitely gonna try the first one. The second on is nice too, but I think it wouldn't look good on me

I've managed to successfully complete a bona-fide crown braid twice in my life, and the technique I use (separating by quarters) is remarkably similar to the dutch/heidi crown braid hybrid.
