Olive oil and aloe Vera gel

Hi all, last night I thought I'd put some aloe Vera gel on my hair before the olive oil. This morning no trace of the oil was left on my hair. Do you think the aloe helped the olive oil penetrate better? oil never properly soaks into my hair despite it being dry.

As a side note my hair was super soft today after washing.

That's what I find. If I use aloe and oil as a leave in mixed together then the oil prevents the aloe making the hair hard and the aloe prevents the oil from making the hair look that stringy and greasy. Jojoba is the oil I found best with aloe but I should try some others too.
