Anime Hair styles!

does any one know of any good anime hair styles for long hair? except for out


i have done sum braids and bun mix once with some ribbons

That style looks very pretty.

I've done the Usagi (Sailor moon) type knot buns with tails, the Haku (Naruto) covered bun with the front part loosely tied. I'm sure I've done more but I'm fortetting now. The Usagi one is in my blog (private) somewhere.

I put my own little twist on the odango look using celtic knots. It's simple and easy to do, but the knots add a nice shape and detail.
ETA: This would probably look cool if you did three knots and tails instead of two, as well! :)

Wow, I think your braids are great..
If you put cosplay into google you should find lots of good ideas. (be warned make sure adult filter is turned on or I take no responsibility for what else you find)
Below are a few suggestions for you, but mostly I think bright colours and bows and cuteness in abundance, or for gothic / lolita styles black or spikey, ears and things also play a big part in anime hairstyles.

thanks for all the pictures of some realy intresting hairstyles

they look great but my problem is that most of anime hairstyles require some short parts of hair for bangs and such but i dont want to cut my hair any time soon

You can fake bangs. Bun (or other up style) some of the hair closer to the top of the head and flip the ends towards the face, spread them out and pin them to a length so it looks like you have bangs.

The other option is to buy clip on bags at the wig store. They are fun to wear once in a while.

The bun would have to be part of the style or can be hidden by a bit of hair put over it peacock twist style so it looks like a shorter ponytail. That style is also a good way to make the hair look shorter.

There are so many gothic and lolita styles in the web, but it depends on the person if these are counted as anime hair, most don't. If I only had my magazine's here.

Clamp uses a lot of long hair characters, but many styles are really simple worn down hair. Yuuko from xxxHOLic has some nice simplified old japanese style hairdo's.

I was just playing with a style I couldn't execute because my hair is too short, but maybe you could...

Section hair 4 ways in back. Twirl top two into short loops, pin in place. Twirl bottom two into longer loops, pin in place, for a "butterfly" look. Affix hair decoration in middle where hair is pinned.

(Mine just ended up like 4 buns, hair was too short to make "loops" that didn't look like buns.) I think since it's short, I'm going to try and do 4 mini sock buns and leave the edges fanned out around the buns. Would that be anime-ish?
