I'm sitting here with a sock bun and scarf in my poor APL hair. The scarf is to hide all the ends that are too short to braid and too thin to leave hanging in an attractive way.

I can of course, do a pony tail, a french braid and now a sock bun. I can do a rope braid (sortof) but my hair is too short.

What great styles do you love for us poor APL's?

I', just a few inches past APL and I can do a lazy wrap bun with the ends secured with a clip, a mini figure 8, that cool easy hair stick style in the articles section (try it with the stick on top of the hair and under the hair for variation), a chinese bun (least favorite for me), peacock twists, log rolls and french twists and course regular bun.

You have your thickness as a "i", so with it thinner you should be able to do more styles than someone with thicker hair. I'll try to take some pictures tonight when I get home.

Well, "tails up" is always good, and then I do two offset mini-buns like in my avatar and in my album. Other than that, my layers and thickness don't let me do much. I imagine that if I had all one length or thinner hair I could do much more. At APL you get started doing all sorts of nice stuff.

Okay, so here are some pictures. I'm a few inches past APL and my hair is pretty thin (2.25" circumference). Also excuse the hair mess, I'm trying to give up combs/brushes and my hair does funny things when it's been up all day.

Side view of above. This is probably my favorite as it's easy and it holds well.

Jivete, Your hair looks lovely and I love your color! Are you sure you did your measure correctly? It looks thicker than you assert and your updos are great! Keep up the good work!

Auntbeast, I gave up the sockbun, I found it actually damaging, because I had to use ridicilour amounth or metal (hair pins) in there to secure the ends, and still had to use the scarf. Maybe in future as the hair grows I try again...

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Tressie it is that thin. I keep measuring it hoping it's getting thicker. ;) The color is a combination of old dyed ends and faded henndigo. I love henna and I loved the henndigo, but the indigo fades too fast in my hair and red doesn't quite suit my complexion.

Wow, you can do an infinity bun already! See, that's one advantage of not having really thick hair.

It is one of the benefits of not having thick hair (although I think it's probably one of the few). I actually started a post about it.

I also have quite a bit of taper from layers. I think that might actually help more than the thickness or lack thereof.
