I just recently found a video on youtube and discovered the fitagem method, which is a brazilian method for more defined and voluminous curls. I tried it out today and I really liked the results so I'd thought I would share it with you guys :)

The first video is in Portuguese, but the second video is in English :)

Both these girls have pretty defined and strong curl patterns, so... I guess just about anything could work for them to make their curls bounce! But it's worth a try. Thanks for posting. :)

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing, Rapunzel_to_be!

I think a couple things stood out to me as possibly the reason for such great curl definition:
- saturating the hair with quite a lot of product to make sure the curls dry silky and clump together;
- taking time to make sure the separation with fingers is not messy & changing, but very consistent throughout.

It's a very involved method, but I love the results. :crush: It should be great for curlies for those times when you have time to do hair thoroughly.

It's all just clump definition and air drying.

Clump definition is just getting curly hair aligned from root to tip. For looser curls, you can just apply product. For tighter, apply product and rake it through using a brush or very patient hands. For tighter still, rake every single curls and maybe smooth individually (ie, tightly curly).

....And then the hours of air drying.

Variations on a theme.

The raking through the hair with your fingers did make my hair look more voluminous than when I don't do it. And I only used my leave in conditioner as a styling product. But yes they do have a strong curl definition and Im sure their hair would look amazing either way .
