My hair is almost hip length now (YAY!), but cinnabuns just aren't staying put quite as well as they used to. :/ I'm getting tired of cycling through the same 3 buns (not counting braided variations) and a few braids as well during my summer-long trek of only wearing my hair up. LWB, Disc buns, and cinnabuns are my go to bun styles, and I French, Dutch, Fishtail, English, and 4 strand braid my hair. That makes sense? Whatever. Anyways, any new (decently simple) buns I can try out? I have one hair fork and one hair stick. Also new cool braids are welcome as well :)

Try rope braids! They are more of a twist than a braid but they are pretty. You can make a rose bun with the rope braids. Have you tried braided Chinese buns? You can use rope braids for the Chinese bun.I like to just wrap the braids around the stick going in opposite directions rather than doing a figure 8 for Chinese buns.

Here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=112682) is the Tentative bun and Braid reference thread. Fourth post also has links to some other sites with hairstyles, too.

You can also look around on YouTube for inspiration. While I don't do the styles exactly as in the video since my hair is too long or too short, CuteGirlsHairStyles, TorrinPaige and Lilith Moon on YouTube have a lot of cool braids, buns and stuff that you can use. You can also incorporate a lot of things like braids into buns you already know how to do to change things up a bit. :)

I don't know if this will work for your hair, but I'd suggest experimenting with the following simple one-stick buns:
- Ellingwoman bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL2jGJvMBI4) (preferably on oily hair days, because it requires good slip);
- some variation of the Spidermom's Bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH6J4Ekwwdk) and L-infinity Bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fzn4gNWIVQ) (if the length allows it);
- Knot Bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiGTXkUhFKE) and Celtic Knot Bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUQAucReptY);
- Gibraltar bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxDRAEkbpV4) (twisted LWB);
- buns that are sectioned or with accent braids, e.g. like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAKXFsQP390; really any little twist and accent makes a big visual difference.

For braids:
- try a 5-strand braid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJWlodeufZE) (easier than the 4-strander and looks pretty cool) and 7-strand braid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZkL2bd4pHU) (if you can keep so many sections separate). They are so much easier than French/Dutch or fishtail braids.

Try also changing how you style the front of your hair, that's what you see in the mirror all day every day, so it would give the fastest sense of change.

How about crown braids and heidi braids, I love how they look! Freestyle dutch braiding in curvy, zig zag way. Multiple buns, side buns, very high or low buns... all of these would look different even if the bun itself would be the same.

Wow these are some fantastic ideas everybody :) I've already fell in love with the 5 strand braid, it's so pretty! I can do it on other people but keeping it even behind me is a struggle :P

I'm looking forward to trying out some of these! :D Maybe I'll post pics if they work.
