Today I tried my first no poo, I mixed about 3 teaspoons of baking soda to 2 cups of water and half cup of water to half cup apple cider vinegar. when i towel dried my hair i noticed skin flakes all over my scalp, did no poo cause me dandruff or dried my scalp?? or is it just dead skin leaving my head (detoxing)? Please help im freaking out!

BS is a general bad idea. It is very alkaline and not good to wash with as it is quite harsh on the scalp.

If a method doesn't work out, go back to what did work for you. That's always the best solution, and the most logical thing to do. :)

Nope. Sorry. Maybe someone else will chime in. :)

Honey (I've only used it in an SMT) is actually quite soothing for my scalp.

Yeah... baking soda is not good for hair (or skin). Its pH is far, far too alkaline. For example, read this blog post (http://blog.kanelstrand.com/2014/01/baking-soda-destroyed-my-hair.html).

You'd probably also do well to read this Sense about Science report on the concept of "detoxing" (http://www.senseaboutscience.org/pages/debunking-detox.html) and their leaflet about the detox concept (http://www.senseaboutscience.org/data/files/resources/49/Detox-leaflet-Final-Embargoed-until-050109remargin.pdf).

I use shampoo bars I've used them for a year. I use to suffer dandruff and eczema issues with sulfates.

I use my shampoo bars, vinegar rinse and rinse it off.

Afterwards I put Aloe Vera gel cold mixed with tea tree oil, rosemary oil and eucalyptus lemon oil on my scalp and leave in. That's the only natural thing to help me get rid of flakes.

If what you used before worked for your scalp, it's best to go back to it. :)

This works for my hair but could be bad for yours. If I could use sulfates I would,I miss cones.

But my hair routine broke,so I had to fix.

If what you used worked before then definitely go back, if it ain't broke don't fix :flower:
