I'm going to be in a very dry climate for a while. Any suggestions (other than avoiding humectants) that I should know about?

I live in a very dry (year round) area. The only thing I do really is put a small amount of oil on my hair after I come out of the shower. Imo it helps lock in some of the moisture. Depending on how hot it is, yo can also get away with stretching washes easier. I find the lack of humidity helpful for this.

It's completely that the humidity that matters (though it does help), it's the dew point with humectants. If the dew point is between 45-60F you are good to use humectants. Anything lower might suck out moisture from your hair.

I hoped the climate helps me stretch washes! I think I will try a little post-wash oiling.
