Hi! I searched for threads about pepperment oil to increase hair growth and I decided go buy some. However, I don't know how to apply it and when. Any tips? How do you use it?
Thanks!

I just asked this exact question in another thread. Although I didn't buy mine (it came as a gift), I'd still really like to know how to use it. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do with it.

Near use it neat. It must always be diluted, a little few drops go a long way.
Always patch test first.
I like to use 1 teaspoon castor oil, 2 drops jojoba and 4 drops of peppermint. Mix. I then massage into scalp. I leave it on for 2 hours and wash well.
I also use 1 drop peppermint oil in a large cup of herbal vinegar water as a rinse. Makes my hair smell nice and shiny.

Oops. I just used some straight up. I washed my hair this morning so I can't wash it again... My hair won't fall out, right?
Thanks for the tips. I'll mix it next time. I only have almond and coconut oil.

I mix mine in coconut and castor oil. I then massage my scalp with it and leave it overnight. My scalp loves this and I enjoy the tingle.

You should be fine :) if your skin, scalp isn't burning then everything is fine.
All essential oils must be diluted in something like oil, water conditioner etc and only a few drops.
Almond and coconut sound like a nice mix. Coconut oil is very good for the scalp and smells amazing when mixed with peppermint oil. :)

I dilute mine in my homemade detangler because my hair doesn't like oils. I use Aussie 3MM, aloe vera gel, and water. I add more than just a few drops because it takes more than that to make my scalp tingle.

One more question:
The first little bottle that I bought of peppermint oil smelled exactly like a candy cane. I ran out and I bought another one in a different store. That one doesn't smell like a candy cane.. It says 100% peppermint oil

Well that was not exactly a question...all I can say is that mine have all smelled like a candycane.

I guess what I meant to ask is if I should be worried about it.

No need to worry, but was it an essential oil blend by any chance? Aura Cacia makes a candy cane one that has peppermint, wintergreen & spearmint essential oils & vanilla. That one smells like candy cane, but regular peppermint EO just smells like peppermint to me. Maybe your other one had some vanilla in it or something? Or maybe it just smelled a litle sweeter than the one you have now? I do notice a slight variation in how EOs smell from company to company, maybe that's all that is?
