Hairagami bun for layered hair?

I bought a hairagami today hoping to create fresh new hairstyles but hey, my hair is layered... I kinda forgot about that....:rolleyes:
When I let the hairigami slip through my lenght I have tons of hair at different lenghts obviously slipping out of it which don't let me create the final bun...
I guess I have just wasted my money? Or is there anybody with layered hair that can make the hairagami work?

I used my hairagami with layers. Stop pulling back when you are at your shortest layer and make the bun. Then wrap and tuck the rest around or under.
