I haven't been so active in the past couple months, but it just occurred to me that this past week was my first LHC anniversary! A year ago I had been dying my hair platinum blonde and stumbled upon LHC while looking for information on henna and repairing my hair. My hair was WHITE, bleached within an inch of its life and around shoulder length. In the past year I've stopped using any kind of bleach, have only used henna and manic panic for color and have been growing it out. It's come such a long way!

I didn't take many pictures of the back of my head before joining LHC but here is a picture from last February/March so you can see how white and damaged my hair was...

This is May when I first henna'ed my hair

and here are some pictures along the way...

and..... this is my hair now!

it still is really damaged at the ends, and I had one trim in December, but it's come such a long way!

The thing that has helped me the most from LHC is figuring out that if I'm stuck in a hair rut the best thing to do is oil treatments, SMTs, etc. instead of cutting or bleaching it! I never would have been able to grow my hair out this far if I hadn't found this site. Everyone in the "real world" told me to just cut it off since the bleached hair was so damaged, but my hair has prevailed! :)

I'm going for WL virgin hair, which is years away at this point but a nice goal to have!

Thanks everyone! :cheese: :disco:

I love the colour . Your hair looks very healthy and well cared for you would not guess that you had bleach damage. I like the idea of using Manic Panic as they just coat the hair and would add A protective conditioning treatment to the ends as well as some lovely colour. Happy growing

Congratulations eva888! For someone who has had the colour lifted to platinium blonde your hair seems to be in very good condition. :) Happy growing! :o

I think you did a great dye job, it looks like natural weathering. I'm sure your future 100% natural color hair will look wonderful but it looks really great as it now. And your hair grew from barely shoulder length to apl in a year, that's nice.

Congrats on your growth! Your hair looks amazing considering what its been though, in the second to the last picture I would never guess that your hair was recovering from bleach.

We joined right around the same time! You've definitely gotten a lot more growth than I have! I think you've got a solid two inch lead on me. You go girl!
