Anyone try anything from this shop?
RootieBird's (https://www.etsy.com/shop/Rootiebirds)

I'm liking the elemental look of them but haven't ordered yet.

The forks (https://www.etsy.com/shop/Rootiebirds?section_id=12673847&ref=shopsection_leftnav_6) look really cool. She also has sticks. (https://www.etsy.com/shop/Rootiebirds?section_id=17079526&ref=shopsection_leftnav_7)

Oh boy, that store means trouble! The necklaces, the bracelets :thud:

The forks and sticks look so cool too! Not sure if they'd work for me yet at my length. I'm still having trouble making sticks and 2-prong forks stay.

Ok :run: sorry it took me so long, the weather here all weekend was total crap. This arrived on Saturday + I've pretty much been wearing it since.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/Buttercup_9/rootiebirds%20fork_zpsgk8pkcsl.jpg

It's awesome for supplemental hold for my buns! (as in, using it with other things, like TT's which don't hold my hair. Also holds swimmingly by itself) I even slept in it one night. The tips of the tines aren't sharp, but not dull either...I have to kind of wiggle it in, like a Jeter, but once in, it's great!

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/Buttercup_9/RootieBirdsFork_zpsbblhiciv.jpg

I have ordered a Quattro pair which aren't here yet, but when those arrive, I'll do comparison pics for those who are wondering about RootieBird's size and whatnot.
Next time, I'll order a longer one (this is 4.75 inches and it barely fits...but, it's not poking me in the neck either which is nice) You can sort of see the tines sticking out on the left.

Oh, and I almost forgot, this was how it arrived - very nicely packaged with a nice handwritten note. I had it 2 days after I ordered:

Love it! What bun is that?

:D Thanks curls...um...I was afraid someone was going to ask me what bun lol...:rolling: I was trying to re-create an accident bun I did last week. It starts out like an orchid but I pull the loop (which should be at the top) down + to the left so the bun is going horizontal. It kind of stabilizes itself if I keep it low above the nape.

I noticed RootieBird's is having a Flash Sale today, 6/2 - save 10% on any purchase with code 10FLASH :eyebrows:

I said that I would take comparison pics comparing size of Rootiebird's vs Quattro ---
As you can see, the Rootie is considerably thicker (and it's heavier also. The Quattros feel like nothingness)

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee165/Buttercup_9/P6097038_zpsrlbtooxy.jpg

The head curve on the Quattros is slightly more pronounced --- The Rootiebird's does have a head curve but it's subtle ---

Sorry these are kinda big, Photobucket is not letting me re-size

I got mine today! :D They are quite heavy which I actually like and I like that they are not smooth which means they hold my slippery hair much better.

It is blue-green-copper and it plays sooo nice with red hair! Could not be happier and this pair will really go well with the industrial music clubs I sometime frequent. They will not go well with flying though :D

Hypnotica, the sticks look fantastic on you, congrats!

So funny, I am getting a pair in the mail today. They weight was one of my concerns. We shall see if my hair is up for the challenge ;) May I ask what size you got?

7 inches :D I did ask her about the weight, she said 0,5 ounces. Haven't checked myself.

Mine just came tooo! They are 6.25 inches. They are so slim/petite and really lovely. I think the weight will be fine. I really like the sticks and also the earrings I ordered. Everything was perfectly packaged (bubble wrap, tissue paper, little cardboard box for the earrings).

And a bonus pic where you can see the earrings a little better (also from rootiebird):

And here is a picture with a regular width, 6 inch Ead, for width comparison:

Just got a new job, I'll wait for some money then I'm buying one! I love these so much. They look great on you guys. I'll probably buy a copper fork from tempestmoonstudio too, I'll compare them!

Yogagirl, your hair is so pretty, and those sticks look so perfectly delicate on you!
Magalo, I'd love to hear your thoughts and comparisons with these vs tempestmoon. Awesome!
I'm still wearing my little fork a lot. The coppery patina has gotten richer/darker I think. Which is cool.

schnibbles, thank you for your kind words :o I always admire your hair whenever I see a picture of yours, so it means a lot :flower:

And I'm sorely tempted by rootiebird's forks. I'm glad you're enjoying yours!

I was looking through Etsy when I came across some of RootieBird's forks. I'm surprised there seem to be so few of them on LHC - the forks in her shop are lovely.
I won't be ordering anything for a while, but I thought I'd bump this up in case someone else has gotten something recently. :)

I inherited yogagirl's Rootie's. They are so sleek and modern! Dig it. :rockerdud
I like that these are a little more incognito than some of my other hair accessories. Plus, I never can resist hiding sharp things in my hair. :pins:

Ashenputtel - I almost got those, but I wasn't sure about the actual fpl. The sticks looks awesome, but the part that actually goes into the hair does not look very long at all on the really loopy stick. It would be great if they had action shots in the shop listings.
