How do I get this waxy coating off?

Hello :)
I have this buildup on my hair strands and I want to get it out, any help?
My routine for the past few weeks, has been shampooing with sulfates and it seems to help, but it has not resolved it. I believe what started it, was stretching my washes.Maybe this wax is sebum?
My length and parts of my scalp feels coated however, there is no poralisis (sp?)
Please help, I want my hair to feel clean again!

Have you tried proper clarifying shampoo?

What other products are you using, and how do you use them? Conditioner? Leave-in? Serum? Please share your entire routine. :)

I was reading through a thread recently about Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner. One member reported a wax build up from using it that just wouldn't come off. Another member suggested soaking the length in oil I think olive oil specifically then shampooing off. Apparently it worked well, the idea being that the oil softens the wax so it's more easily removed.
That advice is based on your issue being wax build up though.
