Fishtail braid!

Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding that this braid is unbelievably time consuming to do, and it's very discouraging. Which is a shame, because it's so pretty!

My arms got tired after like 15 minutes of trying to do one... and I only had about an inch or so of braid to show for it :(

I find fishtails take a little longer than other braids, but not that much longer. I can probably do a french fishtail on my MBL length hair in ten minutes. Maybe you're taking too small pieces, or are trying to make it too perfect? I like a messy looking braid, so maybe that's why mine are fairly quick. Also, don't forget that when you get far enough you can bring it over your should to stop your arms getting sore. Here's mine from today which I did quickly in my lunchbreak. if you look closely you can see the sections are very uneven and it's very far from perfect, but I think it still looks good enough. :)

I'm not a huge fan of this style just because of the tangles it gives me, and yeah, it's time-consuming, for sure! :agree:

Fishtail braids can take forever if you take small sections. I personally like the way mine look when I use small sections (about 100-150 strands maybe?) and I cannot do one straight down my spine to save my life. I also do mine on the side and it's a lot easier on my arms.

I'm much the same I love the look of fishtail braids but they take forever! This might be because I have the upper arm strength of a small toddler I swear. If someone else could do them for me then it would be perfect :D

Yes, it does take longer than a three strand braid for me but I like the look. A normal french braid takes me maybe 5 minutes. But I like to do a fishtail like this one as well:

It takes me around 15 minutes. I get faster every time, once you get the hang of it you hands will move faster ;).
