I've been absent for a while (big project!) but I just got back from a cruise and my hair just loved it! I washed it 4 times in 7 days (I normally wash 8-10 day stretches) and I'd braid and soak it with cone free condish. When it dried (over night or just later in the day) this is what I got! Shiny and soft!

I used my same shampoo (cheapo white rain) but I'm wondering if my hair liked the water. I have hard (well water) at home and the ship water is de-salinated (de-salted??) seawater. I know it wasn't the humidity or proximity to the ocean (live in Florida) so I'm betting it just really liked the water! Must cruise often!

Anyone else have good/unexpected results when traveling?

Firstly, your hair is absolutely stunning!

Secondly, I'd have to say that the difference in water is definitely a factor in your hair being so much happier during your cruise. Hard water is, to put it as mildly as possible, torture on hair and as a fellow hard water sufferer, I've also noticed an improvement when I've had the luxury of washing my hair in other types of water. I actually have a tendency of washing my hair in bath water - I use super moisturizing bath bars from Lush and my water feels amazingly soft, so I figured it would equally benefit my hair!

Thank you endlessly and Daylilly.... Yes! Must cruise often! My next one is in December. Hoping to be around classic by then ;)

I hate my water at home. My hair is usually happy at home but obviously it wasn't all that happy!

Never bad to have a good reason to vacation! :) Your hair looks wonderful, by the way.

My hair (when it was long) was fantastically happy when my family and I went to Hawaii, but that was from the humidity and salt air, not just the water. Our water back home (in Nebraska) is softened, so I always feel like home showers are the most luxurious, especially since I live in San Antonio now. The water here is hell on hair and skin!

My hair just loves beach water. I get soft beach waves just from the humidity. I washed my hair with conditioner every other day while on ny cruise and wore braid waves. I didn't use any additional products afterwards

Beautiful!! Hope you had a lovely time :)

I also live in a hard water area. It's terrible on hair. I've started doing my finally rinse with filtered water and it helps quite a bit, though it's not the same as when I was vacationing in San Diego. The water is so nice and soft there. I didn't recognize my hair!
