My last cut was a big chop from hip to waist last March. I haven't trimmed since, and my ends were starting to be a bit grabby. I decided to bite the bullet and self-microtrim. I am so glad I did! I've been battling breakage and dryness, and I've tried everything from clarifying, to deep treatments, to LOC, to catnip, and nothing has been making a difference.

I only trimmed about 5 cm, and used Feye's straight across method on wet hair.

The remnants in the sink:

And the final result (hair is still wet), but it's straight:

Great job--looks nice! I have wanted to try it but am too chicken. I am trying to make it until May for a trim as that will be a year since my last one. I am so afraid I will get it uneven and then it it will keep getting shorter and shorter...... Was it hard? (My hair is similar to yours but nearly as long. I am almost to waist.)

Thank you! It was incredibly easy to trim with the straight across hemline.

I ponytailed my hair and slid the elastic down to the ends behind my back, then brought it over my shoulder, then trimmed. I redid the ponytail, slid the elastic down again, and brought it over my other shoulder and trimmed again.

You might have some trouble sliding the elastic down to your ends behind your back with the length you have currently. Give it a try though, it really wasn't hard.

Thanks for the tips! I enjoy seeing hair that is similar to mine--very inspiring!

Blessings!

Thanks everyone! I also have no idea why I ever paid anyone to trim my hair either.

It looks good and neat!!!!! ...... I used to do the straight across in the past when my hair was longer and it was much more easier, but now that im between APL and Chest I never quite get it even and end up doing a wide U shape. ;)
