Hello, everyone.

just took a few photos and I'd like to upload some.
Now I would say that my hair is around 2a/2c. What do you think?

Didn't do anything just showered a couple of days ago and used a moisturizer...

It kinda needs some trimming or S&D in the last photo, but I refuse to trim.. I'm letting my hair grow!

I'm not very good at hair typing anymore, but wanted to say I love your curls! And colour! I think you can update your length too, you have probably 19-20 inches of hair when measured the LHC way. (IF I remember correctly: inches are a mystery language to me, as I am used to metric system, but I seem to recall that shoulder length is about 18" on many people.)

Oh, and I think the most accurate hair typing is done on same day hair is washed, as the curls/waves can stretch or unclump otherwise. Also buns, braids and such can change the curl pattern.

You seem to have nice spiralling, big loose curls and strong big waves. Would that be 2c?

I'd say that's rather 2c/3a.

Without looking at the other answers (so that my opinion won't sway), I also thought 2c/3a. Why don't you wanna be in the 3s? =o

By 2c/3a you mean which one, both?

2c/3a. It's also my hairtype. It's sort of in between waves and curls. Mine forms loose waves halfway down, then it start to curl at the ends, forming ringlets. If you brush it, you can wear it wavy, and if you scrunch it, it will curl. I prefer to scrunch, but my curls relax in 1-2 days and become waves. Then I wash it again.

I don't think she is a 3a. That would be curls about like wrapped around a 1" curling iron. These look very big and fat like around a super jumbo 2 or 3 inch wide curling iron or roller. No way is she a 3a. Definitely 2 something.
here's a 3a for reference

Mr dude, lol, the codes are just man made categories. It doesn't matter which you are in (at least outside hair forums), the code does not change your hair in one way or another. It's still the same hair.

Having 2c-3a means it an inbetween curl/wave type. It shares charecteristics of both of these categories.

The consensus wasn't 3a, it was 2c/3a - different beast altogether. ;)

I'd say more 2c--I don't think there's quite enough spiraling there to be 3a--but if you were to do curly girl or similar (conditioner wash, no combing), in a few months I wouldn't be surprised if you really showed 3a entirely. It can take a while of receiving adequate moisture for curls to really show up.

I agree. I don't think it's quite 3a but could be coaxed into it. It's similar to mine. I've got 2b/2c/ sometimes 3a.

Brushing or combing is a bad idea if you have wavy or curly hair

To me thats a definite 2b, a few ringlets near the ends dont get anyone in the 3 category in my book either.
