Made this from an old hair dying shirt, measuring tape and a sharpie.
14" is from the center of my head to under the collar.

Center of head... you do mean hairline, right? Or do you measure differently?

I should do that, except I don't have an old white t-shirt to do it with. Maybe I can talk my stepdad out of an old one of his. :)

I need to make one of these with a darker shirt and see if it helps make my ends easier to see. hmmm not sure if black sharpy will show up well, but I have silver and gold pens somewhere.....

I definitely am getting the winter-stuck-in-the-house-crazies, cause I went and made one of these. I managed to find my silver sharpie and a black T-shirt I was willing to sacrifice. Not sure if the lines are accurate as far as hair measurement, but the lines are all 1 inch apart. I used an old pan to draw on because I found the sharpie was going through the shirt and writing on the table. Not sure if this will be functional enough, the numbers may be too small to read but I like the black.

I tried it out for length shots, it was difficult to find the balance between being far enough to see the end of my hair and close enough to see the numbers. Might try this after a wash to get a real comparison shot for May's length shot, hair is freshly out of a bun so ends are wonky.

Looks excellent! *digs around for an old shirt, even though its probably pointless at this length...*

I want to make one too, but I can't find my measuring tape D:

Would I measure from the center of the top of my head???

LOL, you are about ready for pants with lines on them, I'd imagine they would have to be home made, it might be tough finding pants with vertical stripes

I usually put the tape on my forehead where my hairline starts, then let the tape run down my back from there.

Yay when I posted this I was like "people will probably think this is really stupid" aha glad you all like it, we can start a fashion club! On the front I wrote "GROW DAMMIT!"

I measured from the very tip top of my head, I could have started from anywhere, I considered the very back of my hairline, and I only did it because I'm going to have blunt bangs and it seemed like it would make it pointless to start there when I'm cutting the very front.

I see I see ;) I was assuming that just starting from the top of the head would be hard because I probably wouldn't even be able to measure it from the exact center correctly :rolling:

*Thread resurrection!*

I just attempted to make one but failed. I started at 18" at the collar, and measured down to 30. Which should be waist length on me. But the 30" on my shirt is way higher than my waist. :( Back to the drawing board.

Yes I think it could be tricky if the shirt follows the contours of your back but your hair kind of hands down. I think I'd have the same problem that 30"on a shirt would not equate to 30" of hair length however the shirt itself would still be good to compare monthly growing! :)
