SMT texture change?

Hello everyone, I would like to know if anyone has had texture changes after doing the SMT deep moisture treatment? It makes my hair much wavier/curlier.

Looking forward to hear if SMT changes your hair type!

Yes, SMT's help my waves come out nicely, while deep treatments heavy in oils weight them down and make my hair practically straight.

Hmm, very interesting! Strangely, I haven't noticed this effect... :hmm: But my hair is pretty heavy now (tbl+ and no layers), so not much changes its texture, unless I damp-set it properly.

I can see why it could happen though, since SMT has at least 2 strong humectants (aloe and honey), plus whatever other humectants are in the conditioner. And humectants attract moisture so have the capacity to give more "spring" to wavy/curly hair at certain dewpoints/relative humidity... :hmm:

Hmm..I wonder what would happen if you put oil into the SMT!!
