Ok guys. I'm doing a big chop tonight to get rid of my bleached length (whose texture I can't stand when it's wet) so I can start over fresh and natural.
I have never had a pixie short cut before, and I'd like to go back to all natural herbal product use.
What I'd like from you fellow pixies, is recommendations: if any of you use a texturizing wax or pomade or gel or whatever for hold to make your cut look piecey or spiky or whatever, what do you use? ideally I'd like an herbal recipe to make something natural myself. A lot of the "pomade" I've seen seem to have a lot of oil in them, and I guess that's for slick in it back or holding it in updos or something which is fine for that, but if your looking for say separate hold without necessarily a supergreasy look. .? (My hair isn't a big fan of oils - just makes me look like i forgot how to bathe, then I have to over shampoo to strip it back to normal)
So, I'm planning a shopping list, help me decide what to try?
Thanks guys :)

Well, the best product i had for my short hair was something of a hair wax called Fiber. It was salon product, so not all natural as you would like it. But I'm sure you will find something, wax based products are less greasy and shiny than pomade or gel IMO.

I used whatever pomade/hairwax/pot of paste that jumped off the shelf at the store!

Hope you find a product you adore. :)

I'm a big fan of Bumble and Bumble Sumotech.. it's a nice dry pomade that doesn't show up greasy but adds texture. There are cheaper alternatives at the store, though... I think they are in the men's section.. just look for a dry feeling pomade; not goopy or overly waxy. Also, there's a SexyHair Spray Clay that is fantastic.

I'm in pixie grow out mode now too! Just had a mullet trim today, and I'm starting to have the length from in front of my ears match the length in the back. Exciting times!!!

Also, heat protectant is a biggie if you are going to blow dry at all. I'm using one from Regis that my stylist slipped me, but if you towel right it's only like 2 minutes of blowing.
