I'm looking for a hairbrush for my Granny. She is 93 and has very fine, thin hair. She wears it kind of like this woman.

She has it washed, and set in rollers once a week, and is looking for more of a styling brush to make it look presentable rather than de-tangle.

Her hair needs are completely different to my own, so I was wondering if any of you lovely people had any advice on what to buy?

She often complains that her hair is so thin, so anything that would be gentle on her hair, but give the appearance of more volume would be brilliant!

Since most people on this forum are shooting for long hair, this might be a bit of a long shot (har har), but if the knowledge is to be found anywhere I'm sure it's here :)

I'm thinking maybe a boar bristle brush with soft bristles, like maybe the Mason Pearson SB3? It seems like it would be soft enough for fine, thin hair, but still robust enough to be functional.

Maybe the counterpart to the wet brush (there's a "shine" brush as well, I think)?

My husband has short fine hair and he used a brush made for puppies. The bristles are super soft and gentle.

She might like a styling mouse and use her fingers to lift and bring out the curls?

Thanks everybody for your suggestions :)

I just bought her a tangle teaser in the end. I had my one in my handbag when I was visiting her. She had a go and really liked it.

I'm sure she would have loved a Mason Pearson, but that's a bit out of my price range. One day...

swearnsue-I might try that soon. She does get annoyed when her hair appointment day is approaching. I might just have some mousse lying around. I set her hair for a while at one stage when she first was unable to visit the hairdressers any more, so I might try to spruce up the curl in between visits. I'll just 'happen' to have some in my bag the next day :)

I've been looking for something I can use on my hair while wet, and now I'm tempted to buy the wet and shine set...
And there's also a tiny one!
