Does "silk extract" mean protein?

If a product says "silk extract" in the ingredients, does that mean it has silk protein or is that different? I am asking because I was checking out the Aussie 3mm Strong at the store earlier and it has silk extract, but I'm not sure what that means exactly... I'm trying to be more informed about my hair products, but it's all kind of confusing! :eye:

I think so. There's another product, their hair insurance leave-in, where the description says that it features silk protein but the ingredients just say "silk extract."

Usually products claiming adding strength, or damage repair have proteins in them.
