View Full Version : First decent bun! pic

Today I have succeeded to make a bun AND tuck in ends.
Finally, at 29,5 inches, it is possible to make a bun.:cheese: And finally I found a way to tuck in those ends.:cheese:

To top that, the bun seams to stay the same during the day.:cheese:
Picture below, is taken after cleaning house.

The style is some kind of home made lazy bun. Wrapped around and fixed by the make up brush (I have no hair stick, but 4 simonhandmade are on their way).

Some more inches of growth, and I should be able to make a figure-8 to.

What a wonderful job. Looks great.

This is the only one I can get to stay besides the chinese bun. I love this one.

Thank you two also.

yogachic: I can't get the chinese bun to stay yet. My hair is coarse or hard enough for ends to get themselves out when tucked.
But haven't tried the chinese bun since 28½ inches. I want to do chinese bun without a ponytail first, maybe that is harder to secure than with ponytail.

I'll be so glad when my hair is long enough for the ends to stay put in a bun without pins. One day!

Thank you all!
I'm so happy that I manage to do a bun that doesn't fall down or looks like crazy.

Actually, when I had long hair before, longer than now, I didn't manage to do any bun without 4 claw-things, or sometimes a braided bun on top of head, "secured" by ~30 pins.
(But, had no LHC to learn from back then.)

This is a big bun ! Congratulations !
I wear a bun almost all the time, but I'm not even able to use sticks to hold it...

Your bun looks great! I have to say I really like the color of your hair. The brush is a fun alternative until you get sticks, too. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Now I have had it for 13 hours, all day, and it has just lowered itself 2-3 cm. Still looks good enough, but feeling a bit loose.

I think it looks a little bigger in the picture than IRL.
My color is problably a bit darker IRL too. The more reddish part (on "top" of the actual bun) is old henna.

I will stop hennaing, and I did gradually "lighter" hennaings during a period, so I have no sharp border between henna and natural. (Was a good idea.)
