Is there any CG friendly hair wax?

I'm looking for a curl friendly hair wax to keep the short hairs on my crown from getting out of hand, when in a pony tail. I ride bikes & live in a windy area. I don't like wearing hats. I've tried gel before, but don't like the thickness or crunchiness. I'm trying to follow the CG method & not using sulfates or silicons. I've heard hair wax doesn't build up & is easy to use. All the ones I've seen have 'cones in them. Appearance or scent isn't a big concern. Hair control is my goal. I don't think mousse or spray is a good option for me. I doubt I could rock bobby pins or a hairnet either :)

Kinky Curly has a pomade, but it's not a wax. Giovanni has one, too, but I'm not sure of the ingredients. There are some others, but unfortunately I can't remember them offhand. If you go to a Whole Foods, you should be able to find something. A lot of curlies don't do well with waxes, or at least not with beeswax and some others, so YMMV.

Any other product you can recommend? I didn't even think of the beeswax part. I don't really want to use that.

A lot of pomades and such use it, surprisingly. I've heard good things about Oyin pomade, but haven't tried it and it's pricey. Some curlies use Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine as a pomade. It was a bit waxy for me, so might work--I think you could try a bit from a tester at Whole Foods. Again, pricey. I think there may be a Fructis pomade/wax that has OK ingredients, and it would be cheaper. It takes a lot of label reading! I just use gel now. Never could find something I liked that really worked.
