 And I thought I've seen the worst when I found a popular "argan oil infused flat iron (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3110545)".

But this stuff (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nicky-Clarke-Purify-Degree-Straightener/dp/B003RWTM1Q) is insane! I couldn't stop laughing reading this:
" - Detox and purify your hair with this Nicky Clarke hair straightener
- Features nano silver coated plates that help to cleanse your hair from toxins, leaving it radiant, sleek and shiny
- High temperature of 220 degrees help you create perfect styles while keeping your hair clean and safe"
:spitting:

Can they really claim such :bull: in marketing without facing legal risks?

220 degrees. I wouldn't have any hair left if I used those on a regular basis. (I know some people's hair can handle them).

Wow, that is a masterclass in creating fragrant, steaming bs! A lot of people will be suckered into believing it and buyig the product, such is the beauty industry's ability to convince people that they really neeed the next shiny hair styling implement.

Oooof. I can't believe it's legal to advertise such rubbish. Maybe because it's not lethal they are allowed to publish that kind of false information? I'm not in the industry and know little about advertising to know if it is an issue. If it were something edible or some topical cream, that'd be another issue.

...Do people really stand in the bathroom unhappy with their hair going "Gosh my hair looks so bad, I wish I could get all the toxins out of it, that would make it look so much better!"

Do people with regular flat irons complain that it doesn't remove toxins?

Color me confused!

And here was me thinking washing was enough to "detox" my hair

Sounds legit to me. Use that product and you will have to chop. Voila no more toxic hair

Tho if toxins lead to curls I want them!
