My One Year Anniversary! (PHOTO HEAVY!)

I can't believe I've been here at this community for one year already (give or take a few weeks)! I've really enjoyed myself and have learned so much. I'm so grateful for all of the advice I've received and the friendships I've found here.

When I joined last year, my hair wasn't in the greatest condition since I blowdried and heat styled somewhat frequently. I've since switched to air drying, using coconut oil, washing less frequently, using only a wooden comb, and other good stuff!

And now, what most of you are waiting for...PICTURES! The dates aren't very consistent and I should mention that I've been trimming my growth each month since May to get rid of my layers (about 3-4" trimmed total).

My goal right now is to completely get rid of my layers (I hate that it makes my hair look like it tapers a lot) and then continue growing until hip...maybe tailbone...;)

(I should note that the camera is probably tilted in the braid picture, I don't think my tassel hits waist quite yet! I wish I didn't have crappy dorm lighting for the new pics, I'll need to get DBF to take some soon!)

Thank you Tina! My hair really appears a lot thicker than it actually is. I don't think of my hair as very thick, but it does have nice volume. I do remember my hair being thick when I was younger and I think it's slowly returning. Since joining, my pony circumference has increased about half an inch just from taking good care of it! Cutting out my layers has really helped my hair as well. When I have layers, the layers themselves don't show as much but my hair just appears tapered. HTH!

Thank you as well Skay! I actually wear my hair down quite often. I leave it down on wash day so that it fully dries and then I usually like to wear it down the next day as well. After that, it will usually start to get a bit greasy so I'll switch to braids or sometimes a bun.

When I wear my hair down I just make sure to always have a hair elastic or toy of some sort with me. If I walk outside and it's windy, I'll just bun it really quick and then let it down once I get inside. If it's not particularly bad outside, I might just let it hang loose or just twist it lightly and bring it in front so it doesn't tangle as much. HTH! :flower:
