Youtube comments are the worst. I make it a point not to even read the comments on Youtube videos I'm watching, because I know it will be nothing but a bunch of people arguing and/or making mean remarks.

Morons, idiots and haters. Have I left anyone out? No, good. If they don't like long hair why do they even watch it?????

Ugh, another one of those videos with bad comments on it. It's somehow always about donating the hair, isn't it?

It's all about appearing "cool" by acting as though they are superior to everyone, by running everyone else down. Make a nasty comment, har har, everyone will laugh, right?

Sorry... they don't appear "cool" to me, they appear like snobbish small-minded petty children.

it's too easy for these people to hide & comment behind a computer, isn't. the other day i tried to explain to someone there was nothing positive about donating one's hair to locks of love. oh well all i did was ruffle their feathers  There are so many other ways people can support those with cancer, how about spending time with them, showing them some love and support. i believe kindness is effortless so i am always a little suspicious when someone blabbers about their hair donation to locks of love like they deserve some kind of medal or recognition

random one here, but I always wonder why they dont get mad with the women who keep a haircut and cut their hair every month? isnt it the same? I mean they COULD ALSO GROW THE HAIR AND DONATE IT but no lets hate on long hair!

I think they do their nasty comments because they have nothing else to do. I have to agree if you don't like something why watch it in the first place.

I never read youtube comments either. I think of the youtube comment place as the 'bullying' section of the internet. Where the cowards make remarks because they are hidden.

Haha - it is so true! Youtube comments can be some of the cruelest things you'll read on the internet depending on the video content.

I think it's because they themselves usually have the "stylish" shorter cuts, so bashing people who get their hair cut often for not growing for donating would make their hypocrisy even more obvious than it already is now... Bashing long-haired people "who magically have such long hair, unlike the rest of us mortals, and therefore are incredibly selfish for keeping it all to themselves rather than conforming to the latest trend / fashion and be like the rest of us" is something they have easier time getting away with...

I think most (not all, as some really do care, but most) of the "why don't you donate your hair" people aren't really concerned with the cancer patients getting a wig, but rather with making themselves feel better on the back of someone else - they bash someone else for not giving / donating, which makes them feel they did a good thing helping some good cause, while not investing any time / money / resources - voila, the perfect solution to make one feel good about themselves with minimum effort...

totally agree! it will either be that or "ew your hair is too long you shall cut it" And unfortunatelly (and i am not reffering to all) hairdressers made also long hair seem "ungly". If your hair is past the breast size apparently is "too long"

I try really hard not to read youtube comments (and buzzfeed, those two places have some horrendous commenters) but I couldn't resist this time. I agree with the above thoughts: they're hurt because someone else has something they don't and so they have to pull them down. Those girls are clearly incredibly proud of their hair (haven't even watched the whole thing yet) and the idea that someone could be proud of something that mainstream fashion can't have (long hair takes too long to be fashionable, and we're told that to have healthy looking long hair it has to be extensions) makes people want to pull them down.

As for the frequently mentioned 'shave your hair off for cancer kids'... I have always wondered what gives cancer patients more right to hair than healthy people. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that because they're undergoing treatment that makes them lose their hair they don't deserve it (or, for that matter, that anyone who is losing their hair to health or age doesn't deserve it) but it seems to me that people think that if you have LOTS of hair you somehow owe it to someone else. People without hair (for whatever reason) should have access to wigs or whatever kind of head covering they like (I've known people with health related baldness who didn't like wearing wigs and just wanted to wear a hat or scarf) BUT no one should have to give something they have to someone else.

I don't have very long hair yet and I don't think donating hair is such a well known thing where I am, so I haven't had any such comments, but it just strikes me as strange that people think they can demand that something can be given away freely BECAUSE it is so dearly loved. People with maintained short cuts pay to have their hair removed a half inch at a time every couple of weeks, and that hair goes into the bin. We could, if we decided we didn't want our long locks any longer, sell them. But that's also seen as wrong. If I had a sofa I didn't want anymore I COULD donate it to charity. I could also sell is second hand and use the money. Somehow that is seen as less selfish.

I guess it's something to do with the part of our brain that has been trained by charity ad campaigns to think 'omg the cancer kids' and that is some kind of ultimate cause that you cannot refuse to support (even though the wigs are, in my opinion, much less vital to children with cancer than expensive treatments or having a well equipped hospital to rely on). If there was some reason that a children's cancer charity wanted sofas specifically, it would probably become a lot more repulsive to sell yours to your neighbour's kid who is leaving home for the first time.

"there hair must be REALLY dead"

Dead is like being pregnant or a virgin...you either are are you're not, and the extent of it is always the same

So, I just read those comments because I got curious. Actually, I didn't think a lot said to donate. A lot of girls said they wished they had hair like that or could grow their hair. And a lot didn't understand competing for a bike, because first world kids take it for granted they can have a bike. The girls had lovely hair and it was interesting, the star wars type hairstyles they made at the end.

There's nothing like a YouTube comments section to make me lose all hope for the future of our species. :shake: :brainbleach: I should know better than to even look....

Its so stupid that they think that people with long hair have to donate, and if they don`t they are selfish and rude!! Oh the ignoranse!.... It is exatly the same as when they don`t donate theyre hair! Should we say that every time they go to the hairdresser and PAY to get theyre hair cut that they should donate the money for haircutting and at the same time save their hair for donation?!!! Or else they are sooo selfish. And are the hairdresser lazy for not saving the shopped hair and toss it in the trash?...... Talk about total stupidity.....

To each his or her own opinion; it doesn't have anything to do with me. I could go over to the super-long fingernails videos and make ewwwwwwwwwww! comments (but I don't bother). I always wonder - how do they handle toilet paper (among other hygiene issues).
