So as some of you know, I cut off all of my hair earlier this year. I've just recently dyed the back brown. It was pink. I've also been letting the sidecuts grow out, so they look a bit silly right now. I may eventually dye those brown as well, but it's fun to look like I have two different hair cuts at the moment I guess. *shrugs* I'm letting it all grow out, except for the bangs for now. Keep cutting those as I feel like my hair is more interesting that way.

I kind of miss my henna'd hair, but not enough to redo it anytime soon. I think the color looks best on me- that and pink- but I'm still tired of it after 4 or 5 years of having it henna'd.

So what do you think? Do the sidecuts looks stupid? Should I just go ahead and dye them brown or does it looks okay? I realize not everyone is a fan of "different" hair or bright colors so judge accordingly. :D <3

Here's a picture of the back from today after being in a bun overnight. At least it's shiney? I'm not a huge fan of the brown color.

The color of the sidecuts doesn't look stupid. That part is fine. I am not a fan of the "mullet" sort of look though, and that's sort of what it looks like at this point. I would grow out the sides, and maybe even cut the back shorter so the sides don't look so short in comparison. Keep the bangs if you want them. It's hard for someone like me who prefers a traditional look to give advice or share opinions with someone who likes a more "edgy" look though, so take or leave the opinion.

No, I so agree with you! I think it looks like a mullet too! LOL. I'm not a fan of that either. I'd cut it shorter in the back, but I look so weird with short hair. I dunno.... I feel like if I dyed the sides brown it would blend more with the rest of my hair and not look so much like a mullet. Know what I mean? That's the main reason I was thinking about doing it, but I kinda like the way it looks when it's up. I rarely wear it down because of the mullet look. LOL.

I quite like it and though the mullet look will eventually grow out I think with the two colors it probably looks pretty rad in a bun.

I like the blue, however I would grow out the sides if it were my hair. I like the brown color as well, but I'm biased. I've always wanted darker hair.

I really really like it, I've always thought the look with different colored bangs was really adorable. Just keep cutting your bangs as you go like you are, and S&D if you possibly can. But I do like the hairstyle a lot, I'm sure it looks awesome in a ponytail.
I'm kinda jealous xD

The bangs look good on you. I would not touch it for a few months and let the sides grow to blend in more with the rest.

It seems like your sides are right at the awkward point of growing out where it's not short but not yet a bob. I'm there right now with my pixie and every time I get to this stage of growing i start to obsess over making changes to my hair, basically because I want it to grow two inches overnight and I can't make that happen so I obsess over the things I can control. Experience has told me just leave it alone.
Anyway, I think the blue is important to your overall look. The blue makes it an edgy hairstyle. I would wait till the sides grow out enough to even out the front and back and then dye the front brown.

I bet a dutch or french braid going down the middle of your head would look so freaking cool!

This one is from June when the sides will still fairly shaved/short and before I dyed the back brown and the pink was still growing out. I thought it looked cool. :D

Omg, the pink hair in a braid looks so cool! :thudpile:

As for your current 'do, I think the differently coloured side parts look really good, even if they make your hair look mullety when it's down. If you mostly wear it up and you think it looks nice in an updo, then I say keep the blue! :)

Thanks! I'm loving the hombre effect of your hair. It looks really cool. I think I'm gonna keep the blue sides on mine until is grows out more. Once it gets long enough to where I want to wear it down I may go ahead and dye the sides. Until then... blue on!

Thanks for all of the opinions guys. I'm trying to leave it alone and not trim it too much for now. Just micro trims every couple of months. Still have a lot of damage though so we'll see how that works out.

I respectfully have to say, no it's not for me. I much prefer traditional styles. This is far too edgy for me.

First off, I also really like the pink in the braid, it looks great.
As for the current 'do, it's too mullet-y for my taste, but I do like the blue sides and fringe.
One suggestion - even though the sides are short, have you tried to bobby-pin them up?
I had an 'edgy' haircut earlier this year (v short fringe, v short/buzzed graded at the back like a short pixie, but long sides) and it looked really cool when I pinned the sides up :-)

Well, it's definitely nothing for me. I'm a fan of traditional styles as well. I'd let the sides grow and trim your general growth every month. But off course, that's my opinion :)

Wow! Love the braid, I knew it would look cool... If you were tempted to grow it all out, I bet a braid like that either left normal or tucked into a bun at the base of your head (for end protection) would be a good look. Regardless, looking good!

Wow, that picture of the french braid is amazing :)
I think the blue suits you really nicely, I love that shade in particular. True that's an edgy look, but you definitely pull it off!

Thanks everyone! I just straightened my hair and I think it looks a lot nicer straightened, but only do it once every few weeks since it's damaging, and oil a lot when I do. :) I'm not a fan of myself with shorter hair. My hair is too poofy and damaged right now. I'll be happy when it's grown out a lot more by the spring/summer. Definitely growing the sides out too. Gonna dye the sides brown as soon as I can get my hands on some dye.

I agree :) I think side cuts can look good but I personally don't like them that short.. I think it can look good though if its like, most of your hair is waist and then the side cuts are shoulder. I know you like anime because of your avatar there's a lot of anime characters with similar haircuts to what I'm describing, if that helps. i think it will look really cool tohave the different lengths later on and will keep long hair from falling in your face and on your food and desk.

And I like the bangs! and the colors!

How about "bun-hawk" from your longer hair? I think it would look great! Good luck with the growing out!

yep thats a mullett :) I love the color of the blue and if it were me ( as longlocks said I am very traditional) I would run some brown through the blue just to blend it in better to the back and then maybe you could do some small trims until the sides catch up to the back in length.
