Thanks to Lapushka for the thread idea!

DD played in a lacrosse tournament last weekend, and her braid took a beating. I thought it was so pretty in the sun, and she offered to let me share a picture with "the long-haired ladies". (Boys, you can look too.)

Anyone else have shredded braids to share? Good, bad, and ugly are all welcome. :)
I know you layered people probably have some fantastic ones!

Lmao I'll have to take a pic of one of my shredded braids one of these days. This happens after about 4-5 hours of wearing the same braid- especially day after wash day.

Fishtail braids are the worst for me. They look great when first done and in about 10 minutes they are fuzzy and by the end of the day you can't tell there is a braid under all of the escaped frizz.

Going to attempt to revive this thread. I wish it wasn't dark out as the bad lighting makes the shred look better than it actually is :p

Great thread idea! Too bad it doesn’t see much activity.

I get major braid shred. Today is the first time I’ve worn my hair in a braid since my chop in 2020. I tried oil in the past and it didn’t help. I have some medium hold gel that I’m going to try but I’m not very hopeful. I have allergic contact dermatitis so my options are limited plus I don’t really like putting product in my hair. I hope as my hair gets longer the braid shred won’t bother me as much.

This is the first day I met my current dog, RingoStar. My eyes are puffy from crying so much over the death of my Golden Retriever, the never-to-be-forgotten and always-loved Tanner.

I'm so sorry spidermom  I'll gave my golden boy an extra hug today in Tanner's memory. ❤️

Your RingoStar looks so much like my old family dog! :O We lost her a few years back at this point.

What a sweet pic of you and Ringostar! Your hair is lovely as always and I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost both of my pets during the pandemic (cat to illness, dog to old age) and I don't know when or if I'll ever be able to get another one because the pain is still so fresh. Give your sweet fur baby a hug and kiss for me!

Thank you for the warm condolences. I still shed tears nearly every day. Tanner was so perfectly trained; he was a joy to walk with. RingoStar is a bit of a wild child. "What's this over here? What's that over there? Let's chase that squirrel Let's try to catch the school bus!" It's a workout!

Haha; I don't just have braid shred there. I have all over the head shred.

One of my pigtails after the day’s adventures. I think I may add growing out some of these layers to the list of hair goals. :p
